Untitled[edit]

Dear friends: PowerStation was a Hard Rock Style Band (not pop). If you ear it, you found the rock inside.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.68.31.46 (talkcontribs) 21:07, 25 May 2006

Fair use rationale for Image:Powerstation albumcover.jpg[edit]

Image:Powerstation albumcover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Name of this band..[edit]

I believe the name of this band IS The Power Station..not Power Station. Check out the single album cover listed on this page.  ЯєdxxTalk 15:15, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Title[edit]

Ive redirected the page to the band's actual name, "THE Power Station".--Das Ansehnlisch (talk) 20:48, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted; as you've been told many times before, discuss your plans before moving a page. --Ckatzchatspy 07:18, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: no consensus to move the page at this time, as the discussion below is inconclusive and has gone stale after being listed for 53 days. Although the redirection of the plain title to the disambiguated title would normally indicate that the page should be moved, it is not clear from the discussion that the current redirect to the band enjoys consensus. If a move is still desired, I suggest a new request based on evidence from third-party sources. Dekimasuよ! 23:01, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The Power Station (band)The Power Station – The band has 5193 hits last month, much higher than The Power Station (TV channel)'s 451. They also should be primary over their eponymous album (1995 hits last month). The other "Power Station" titles are without "the". "The Power Station" currently redirects tot he band anyway. Relisted. Jenks24 (talk) 14:35, 11 September 2014 (UTC) Timmyshin (talk) 21:46, 3 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose - apart from the other subjects at Power station (disambiguation) there's no evidence in Google Books that this band is a WP:primary topic, outnumbering all other uses combined, plus readers in search box for power station will quite easily overcapitalize on searching for power station, shouldn't but do. Which is why we have the dab with (disambiguation). In ictu oculi (talk) 01:25, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm not claiming that the band is a primary topic. The proposal is to The Power Station which already redirects to the band anyway, rather than to a dab page. The key part here is the word "The". I don't believe anybody searching for power station will put a "The" in front. Timmyshin (talk) 02:33, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. If The Power Station already redirects to the band (as it has for the past five years), then the disambiguator is useless. I wonder though, are there really no other uses of "The Power Station" besides the band, its album, and the TV channel? bd2412 T 03:19, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
User:BD2412, well as hatnote there's The Power Station (recording studio) after which the band was named (and which I just disambiguated 8 links to other albums recorded there). Interestingly the owner's nephew a certain John Bongiovi (real name) worked as a help and recorded songs which became John Bongiovi: The Power Station Years. Seems that as the band referenced the place the members hung out some disambiguation was required in real life from day 1. In ictu oculi (talk)
  • 'Oppose repoint "The Power Station" to the disambigaution page instead. -- 65.94.169.222 (talk) 05:34, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • On what basis? bd2412 T 14:40, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
      • This topic is missing from the top 100 results of Google Books [1] for a band, that's a "supergroup", it isn't all that super on that basis -- 65.94.169.222 (talk) 06:52, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose: To me and many, "The Power Station" with no disambiguator added, means "the power station". About "The band has 5193 hits last month", pop music is ephemeral and that fame will not last long. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 04:53, 8 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't know how long you consider long, but the band was last active 17 years ago (and even that activity was a very short reunion 10 years after they first disbanded). Timmyshin (talk) 08:17, 8 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No sources for 2019 reunion currently[edit]

There appears to be no sources that back up Power Station reuniting in 2019. Going to the reunion section of this article yields nothing nor does going to any of the members who are supposedly involved in this 2019 reunion. The only thing they have in common as of right now is that their associated acts section on their respective pages include Power Station as a band they are associated with (Michael and Andy make sense since they were in the band during the 1980's). As of right now, I fail to see that the band has officially reunited with the members listed, especially since there appears to be no sources to back this up. The page will remain unchanged, but that may change if there are no sources to back up this supposed reunion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Moline1 (talkcontribs) 15:31, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Still no sources for all this. Google it and you get conversations about how Wikipedia has been taken for a ride 80.7.125.9 (talk) 19:46, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
