In order to save the enhanced article, the external links for the Official movie website from Warner Brothers and the Film's website from Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group needed to be removed due to a "spam filter." The FinalWord 13:16, 20 Dec 2004 (UTC)

What about...

Has everyone forgotten about that most important of all parts in the movie - the chandelier that the Phantom smashes to tiny little pieces? That was the most important part of the movie! 24.31.203.62 02:11, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Critical Reaction

Is it just me, or is our Critical Reaction section more than a bit POV? It could really benefit from some opposing views on the various changes/singers, quoting from additional reviews. If no one does so, I'll go ahead and do so. JG of Borg 18:01, 9 October 2005 (UTC)

Changes in plot

There were some plot changes that harked closer to the book and shortened some other scenes, maybe someone could mention that, someone more familiar with it. --The Singularity 00:32, 15 October 2005 (UTC)

Hidden Plot

There is actually a hidden plot analysis of the movie plot on www.phantomgerry.net I think it's worth checking out ... maybe even mentioning it?

Plot

I think the Plot section in this article should have more paragraphs, rather than a huge chunk of text. Insanephantomon Editor Review 08:27, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

I've edited the Plot section a bit. Please let me know what you think. Rougeblossom 23:01, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
It also seems to be missing the epilogue and framing story? Something about auctioning off Christine's stuff after she died, and the Phantom leaving a ribbon or something on her grave or something? Andrew Nagy 68.44.13.236
Thanks for pointing that out. I'm going to shorten the whole plot section but include the epilogue too. Rougeblossom 20:37, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Should we keep shortening the plot section or can the ambiguous plot template be removed? Your thoughts please. Rougeblossom 23:52, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
If you think it's fine as it is, go ahead and remove it. It no longer looks like a huge, disorganised chunk of text which lacks paragraphs. Thanks for shortening the plot! Cheers,Insanephantom (my Editor Review) 00:03, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

The plot summary says the Phantom "seduced" Christine. This is somewhat misleading. Also the part about him letting them go is left out. It just says they "exit."

I never got the impression that Christine was in love with the Phantom. I think she is intrigued by him and pities him, but love him in a romantic way? I don't get that impression. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.23.199.108 (talk) 02:39, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Trivia

Most of these items were more suitable for Entertainment Tonight than an encyclopedia entry. Since none of them were substantiated, I removed the section entirely. ConoscoTutto 13:39, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Had to take it back out, someone put it back. This could be a useful section if there were any references in the block of poorly-written text. But there aren't.Sailorknightwing 21:04, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Plot summary

At some 3,000 words, the huge plot summary had been tagged as overlong. I've replaced it with a much briefer but perfectly adequate version adapted from an earlier revision [1]. --Tony Sidaway 22:09, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Opening sequence

Who played the aged Raoul and Mme Giry in the opening sequence? 90.198.228.166 (talk) 19:00, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Did the actors themselves sing?

I couldn't find any information already in the article that supported this other than Minnie Driver's character being dubbed. This would suggest that everyone else sang their parts. Does anyone know if this was the case? -- Tylerdmace (talk · contr) 00:18, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Nevermind, I have found information in other articles that have lead me to believe they were indeed. I'll try and gather up a collection of references to use through out this article to help indicate such. -- Tylerdmace (talk · contr) 01:34, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Homonymous

Just a thought: Most people probably don't know what that means, and they don't want to have to look it up like I did, so maybe someone should change it or just take it out. But i don't know. i'm not going to delete it without asking first Writergirlrocks talk 22:35, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Wrong information

The article states that Raoul sees Meg Giry at the auction. Actually, it is Madame Giry. The costume desings states that it is Madame Giry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.106.88.44 (talk) 15:28, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

More Fanboy/girl Nonsense

I have removed the 'Stage vs. Film' section as it was poorly constructed, full of original research and opinion, cited no sources and didn't even strike me as being a particularly relevant section in an encyclopaedia article. If others disagree please feel free to restore it but it needs a great deal of editing to bring it into line with Wikipedia standards. If you do restore it please make sure to remove all original research and opinion and cite sources where necessary. It may also be prudent to rename the section to something more sensible; i.e. 'Differences between film and stage production' (there is precedent for this sort of title in other articles of this nature). Most of all please, please, PLEASE remember this is not a fan page for the film, nor is it a page to espouse your own opinions on the subject of the article. It is an encyclopaedia entry; a catalogue of facts pertaining to one particular subject. There are plenty of Phantom fan-wikis out there I'm sure, where you can go and write to your heart's content about how dissapointed you were with The Phantom's makeup or whatever, but here is not the place. 89.242.123.250 (talk) 10:51, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Mis representation...

In the 'Release' bit, it says this at the bottom...

..."The film has become popular on DVD, and has become a cult hit among Phantom of the Opera fans."...

...this is not the case. Most die hard Phantom fans hate the cinema adaptation because it is trashy tripe. Search through the comments on YouTube if you don't believe me.

I am deleting that whole line. Contact me on ashleymalamute@hotmail.com if there is a problem. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.217.36.135 (talk) 11:39, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
