Merging with Michaels[edit]

I say go ahead and do it! It looks like not many people edit Leewards anyway. Corkythehornetfan (talk) 22:37, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Corkythehornetfan: The amount of people editing a page has no bearing on the notability. There are multiple sources discussing Leewards outside the context of its merger with Michaels. It was a notable chain on its own before it merged with a more prominent one. Would you say that Galyan's doesn't need its own article because fewer people edit it than Dick's Sporting Goods? Leewards needs expansion, not merging. I created it as a stub in hopes of getting back to it later once I find more to build it with. Retail articles as a whole are barely ever edited around here because so few have an interest in it. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 09:27, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Any update on IPO? Very old info.

The result of this discussion was to merge the Michaels Stores page with a new entry on the Michaels Companies and redirect to that entry. Sam Perkins (talk) 17:27, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

some content needs to be merged DGG ( talk ) 10:01, 17 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Will do, shortly. Sam Perkins (talk) 20:11, 18 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think it makes more sense for the company article to be the target. TJRC (talk) 00:32, 19 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
At first I didn't agree (bec Michaels Stores better known that the Company) but I see it will be cleaner and more logical. I'll switch the material over to the company entry.Sam Perkins (talk) 20:37, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I merged Michaels Stores into The Michaels Companies as suggested. It's much cleaner. As this is my first merge, there may still be issues, so have a look when you can. Thanks, TJRC.Sam Perkins (talk) 01:24, 23 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The merger proposal and discussion is outlined above; the merger was made, followed by a week's waiting period for further comment. Sam Perkins (talk) 17:27, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
