Cast and character list trimming proposal[edit]

I don't think the incarnations for Mickey Mouse Works, House of Mouse, Mickeys Magical Christmas, and Mickeys House of villains need to be in the Cast and characters list. They are non-cannon to the franchise. Yes, some of the characters from the series DID make cameo appearances in those series, But what do those appearances have to do with the REST of the franchise. I will be kindly erasing those incarnations at my nearest convenience. If anybody has an objection to this, you can leave a POSTITIVE message on my talk page at Zucat (talk) 19:52, 16 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lost info[edit]

The original article on the hyenas had lots of non-in-universe information that I feel warrant adding here. As the article is now gone, I'm wondering if there are any ways to retrieve that info.Mariomassone (talk) 13:31, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The merged in character articles have been re-directed and still exist; the hyenas article for example can be found at Shenzi, Banzai and Ed. The history has to remain visible for attribution purposes. Camaron · Christopher · talk 14:17, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I must be missing something then, because every time I type the article in the search engine, it redirects here. Moreover, the history section contains nothing of what I described. Perhaps I need a special link?Mariomassone (talk) 17:14, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

To view the history of the pages once re-directed you need to override the re-direct. A simple way to do this is to go to the page Shenzi, Banzai and Ed as normal, scroll to the top of the page you have been re-directed to, and where it says "(Redirected from Shenzi, Banzai and Ed)" click on the link, where it should take it to the page you wanted without the re-direct sending you elsewhere; this then allows you to view the page history. Alternatively you can just add to the page URL "&redirect=no" to override the re-direct, example. Camaron · Christopher · talk 17:53, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Character list split[edit]

I come with this proposal to split the Characters section into a "List of The Lion King characters" for several reasons. First, when the list was first merged, it only consisted of minor characters including Sarabi and those from the sequels, but since almost all pages except Simba and Timon & Pumbaa are already merged, the list has become too large for the article (it is about 40 KB out of the 74 KB total of the article). Also, it is a list on a franchise that includes more than just three films, as it compromises a Broadway musical, a TV series, video games and appearances in other media. Thoughts? --LoЯd ۞pεth 02:10, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure you want to open up that can of worms. There used to be a "List of The Lion King characters", and I was a regular editor on it up until close to the end of its life, when it started getting a lot of IMO undue attention due to its supposed lack of "notability". I'm surprised it still exists in any form.
So while I agree that the section should be split off, it probably won't happen. I'm sure all the people who got it merged in the first place would be against it. Tymime (talk) 01:20, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As I stated in the proposal, at the time of the first merge, the list consisted of only minor characters, but now almost all characters are merged into it. We are talking about a successful franchise that compromises more than just three films. WP:SPLIT recommends that if "a section of an article has a length that is out of proportion to the rest of the article it is recommended that a split be carried out." There is real-world content that can be added to the new article, such as character development, reception and impact in popular culture. --LoЯd ۞pεth 18:39, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think there should be a List of Characters from Lion King. That way there could be more information on all the main characters, not just the absolute starring characters. The could be a Lion King section, a Lion King ll - Simba's Pride section and a Lion King 1/2 section! Tsunami24 (talk) 20:45, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Since there was no opposition and the reasons provided above, I splitted the list. --LoЯd ۞pεth 23:19, 3 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Voice of Timon[edit]

I would like to call attention on the question I asked in Talk:Timon & Pumbaa (TV series)#Voice of Timon. --Newblackwhite (talk) 18:23, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Lion Guard[edit]

Shouldn't it be listed in the films section too? Seeing there will be a TV movie in 2015 and a series following in 2016? http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/06/10/disney-lion-king-spinoff-lion-guard/ --Krystaleen 12:44, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The Lion King: Six New Adventures[edit]

I wonder why isn't the book series mentioned in the article. Not only that acc to Alex Simmons it is canon to the movie series. KahnJohn27 (talk) 10:48, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Come again? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:30, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It's in an e-mail he once sent to fan, but that cannot be used as a source here. ggctuk (2005) (talk) 20:26, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Huh, Six New Adventures is canon? That's news to me. There's a lot of inconsistencies with the movies though.--Krystaleen 08:14, 1 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The same e-mail mentioned that Disney count it as part of their book universe. In other words, Simmons considers it canon while Disney does not.ggctuk (2005) (talk) 16:31, 1 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Missing a video game[edit]

There also was a 1998 PC video game called Lion King 2: Simba's Pride GameBreak. It had mini-games with Kiara and Kovu. 2600:6C50:40F0:8A50:7137:76FB:EC88:525B (talk) 19:18, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
