A Great Christmas Album[edit]

This has got to be one of the best Christmas albums recorded because of the origninality of the songs on the album and the wonderful instrumentation and harmonies The Kingston Trio bring to it. I'm glad that a) my parents loved The Trio and b) my mom had eclectic taste enough to buy this particular record, or I never would have heard it. The only reason I can think of why sales were poor is that too many people are stuck on "Jingle Bell Rock" and other stale Xmas crapola. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.23.105.146 (talk) 03:33, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re: withdrawn shortly after its release[edit]

I know this is a quote taken from the book accompanying the Bear Records set, but unless "shortly" means after five years, the characterization is inaccurate. According to contemporaneous music industry publications archived on WorldRadioHistory.com, The Last Month of the Year was released by Capitol each holiday season from 1960 through 1964: five years inclusively. Five years--especially those leading into 1964 and the boom of The Beatles--seems like a fairly long enough time to give an album. Sure, it didn't become a perennial favorite like Nat King Cole's The Christmas Song, but it was given a decent chance. alainsane (talk) 21:11, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
