Casting[edit]
Who ruined the casting for this? Seriously does anyone know who did the casting. The Bishop of Carlisle (Thomas Merke) is played by Lucian Msamati who is of Afro-Carribian descent. He would have been burned as a "devil" at the time as no person in England would have seen a man from Africa. A few hundred years later there would be a famous incident where English peasants hanged a monkey because they thought he was a Spanish man. If the BBC wants to make everyone beleive that England has always been a multicultural society then can we have some more Chinese cast members please. Hong Kong Chinese have been an ethnic minority in England long before the Afro-Carribian influx during the 1950s and at lease deserve a place. I would like to suggest that someone starts a wikipedia category called "Historical revisionism at the BBC" or "Historical revisionism through casting at the BBC". We can include the following as examples:- Maid marian and her merry men Merlin (BBC) Robin Hood (BBC) (it is worth noting that no people of Chinese descent were cast in any of these programs but people of Indian and African descent were cast). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.122.179.225 (talk) 21:48, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
