Songs[edit]

Added breif descriptions of each song. Hazel Rah 08:28, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

honestly, respectfully, i'm not sure these descriptions are worth including. they seem simplistic and flippant.

like, Closing Time. is that all we can say about Closing Time? that song for me is about nothing less than the entire meaning of life. closing time is about realizing that your life is not particularly special, that the bar is closing and no one is about to take you home. i guess both interpretations are valid. however i don't think, if this album is as important as the article states, that you should summarize each song into a sentence. it takes more space than the original song to explain its meaning, not less, because the song it compact. i think these descriptions are a disservice. hashem mirzadeh

Outtakes[edit]

Tom, wasn't "Never Any Good" recorded ca. 1995 (as a demo by LC and then by Billy Valentine)? – Hattrem 16:32, 16 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Woke Up This Morning[edit]

The version of "Woke Up This Morning" attributed to Cohen is clearly different from A3's version, as the lyrics are first-person ("got myself a gun") rather than third ("got yourself a gun"). If Cohen didn't sing this version, then who did? Emurphy42 06:52, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Or, rather, it's different from the version by A3 that was used in the Sopranos opening. The other version could also be by A3, as far as I know. Emurphy42 06:54, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Other than possible inspiration, Leonard Cohen had nothing to do with "Woke up this Morning". It's one of those internet rumors that won't go away. Almost every lyrics site credits it to him by mistake. - Richfife (talk) 21:46, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Remastered version?[edit]

Is the current CD edition remastered, as is the case for most of L.C.'s pre-1990 (analog) albums? --109.193.211.159 (talk) 09:09, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
