Peel Show[edit]

I'd like to cite a few relevant facts from John Peel's show, but I'm not sure how to cite these in a way that won't be triggered as non-reliable. There's info on the John Peel wiki that's interesting, e.g. here, but wikis can't be cited. The broadcasts themselves can be streamed, but only as mp3s that are hosted by a wiki – so I think they'd still be removed from here as nonreliable sources. Does anyone know a way around this? I really don't feel like downloading the mp3s and uploading them to Archive.org just so I can cite them here. – Portuni (talk) 19:06, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Poorly-attested lineup changes[edit]

Some lineup changes have been mentioned but not cited. I can't find this information mentioned in any acceptable sources, and, since I'd like to remove the "additional citations needed" tag on this page, I'm removing the uncited info. I suspect that these details might've been added to this page by people with personal knowledge of the band, so I'm pasting them here for posterity.

1. There was a claim that Graham Proctor was the original bassist. (This had been up since the page's creation in 2010.)

2. "Simon Templar/Bloomfield (Rezillos, Boots for Dancing, Shake) replaced departing bassist Fraser Sutherland for [Futurama festival 1980] before the group parted company." (This, too, had been up since the page's 2010 inception.)

3. In digging through the page's history, I also found this bit mentioned as an edit summary in 2014, but never actually added to the page:

Guitarist Nick Haines from Portsmouth was recruited for the band's final gig at The Lyceum in London, where they supported Simple Minds. The Flowers split shortly afterwards, and Haines joined Morrison and Best in the formation of Heartbeat

If anyone can find these details mentioned in any acceptable sources, I'd be happy to see them back on the page. Until then, they'll be immortalized here. — Portuni (talk) 18:34, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
