Notability[edit]

The Dusters have received international airplay on radio in US and Europe. Been featured in international newspapers such as The Scene, Creative Loafing, Observer, The Houston Chronicle, The Tennessean, etc and magazines such as Gritz, Spain's Popular 1 Rock n Roll Magazine, France's Crossroad Magazine #56 July - August 2007 and Bands of Dixie Magazine. They have been winners of multiple Nashville Music Awards and nominated for Gritz and Bands of Dixie Reader's Poll Awards.

They are the band that was established enough so that Dischord Records suggested Alec Bourgeois to use the name "Capitol City" Dusters so as to not infringe on trademark and copyright registrations. See Wikipedia article "Capitol City Dusters - Change of Name" section.

Many of The Dusters releases and songs are misidentified and miscredited to the Capitol City Dusters. See Billboard.com. This Ain' No Jukebox was released by this Dusters not Capitol City Dusters. See Phantom of the Strip, This Ain't No Jukebox, etc.

The Dusters' guitarist Ken McMahan has recorded and toured with Dan Baird, Trent Summar and the New Row Mob. See Wikipedia Article "Trent Summar and New Rob Mob".

Former drummers, Leo Overtoom is currently sound engineer for Ben Folds Five and Jeff Perkins records and tours with Paul Thorn.
