Fair use rationale for Image:Dayofthetriffids1981.jpg[edit]

Image:Dayofthetriffids1981.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Other versions ?[edit]

The Guardian writes "BBC television productions followed in 1971, 1973, 1980 and 1981" - can that be true ? -- Beardo (talk) 14:24, 28 November 2008 (UTC) (http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/nov/27/day-of-the-triffids-bbc)[reply]

I noticed this as well and posted a message on the DotT book page. I think the has been some kind of misunderstanding along the line and it's all got a little confused. There are references to these series on the book wiki page but I cant tell whether they were placed there after the press release/Guardian article or whether the writers copied the bad info from Wiki.

I contacted the BBC press office but got no response. I also contacted the British Film Institute who say there is only one film and one television version on their records. I have found no other references anywhere and nobody has replied on the DotT page so I am going to place all of the other references into the radio section where they belong. Article title[edit]

With the new version, this ought to move to The Day of the Triffids (1981 TV series) -- Beardo (talk) 14:24, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We should wait until closer to the start date of the new series; they've only just announced their intentions to remake this so there is little information on what will be the 2009 series yet. Andy1704 (talk) 15:17, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
