so what about any attempt to perform songs from Revolver?[edit]

OK, we have this remark here about the 1966 U.S. tour: >To the disappointment of some people, they performed no songs from the new LP Revolver.

Over in the Wikipedia article for Sgt. Pepper album, in the "Background" section, there is a comment about attempting to perform some of those songs but it says it did not work out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.63.16.20 (talk) 19:05, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I remember expecting them to do Paperback Writer and was disappointed that it was not done at either performance in Chicago.THX1136 (talk) 21:56, 3 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Chicago shows[edit]

I distinctly remember "Act Naturally" as part of the set list for Chicago. I was at both the afternoon and evening performances. The reason it sticks particularly well in my memory is that the roar from the crowd subsided at both performances and one could hear the band way better during this number. I was struck by how good the live version sounded which, to me, proved they were a great live band if only one could hear them above the screams.THX1136 (talk) 21:55, 3 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Do you happen to have a reliable source that it was part of the typical set list? Sundayclose (talk) 00:11, 4 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Other than the friend who attended both performances with me, no. I had thought to write down the songs played afterwards that day, but figured I would never forget. Consequently I don't even have that (which wouldn't be acceptable anyway). I would posit that the Chicago shows were different than what they did later on the '66 tour although I have no proof. There was the flap about the "Jesus" comment that may have played into the differences. I've seen the various set lists from that tour. With the exception of no "Paperback Writer" and "I Wanna Be Your Man" that I see on most lists, the rest of the set I remember in Chicago is the same with the possible exception of Day Tripper, which I would have loved to hear live. Please note: I do not claim that "Act Naturally" was done anywhere else on the '66 tour. I need to get in touch with the friend that invited me to the shows. He may have some better info and perhaps sources. Thanks for asking.THX1136 (talk) 14:47, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Opening Acts[edit]

It would be nice to have the opening acts noted for the various tours. For '66 (in Chicago anyway) it was The Ronettes, Bobby Hebb, Cyrkle and The Remains.THX1136 (talk) 14:52, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The reference to the Bible Belt is WRONG.[edit]

I live in Atlanta, Georgia, which is one of the "belt buckles" of the Bible Belt South. The Beatles performed in Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium one week prior to the final show in San Francisco. I was there. 24.125.236.43 (talk) 04:25, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
