[Untitled][edit]

She was scheduled to marry Zubin Mehta, but backed out due to illness. Is that supposed to be a joke? (Stratas was known for cancelling performances) If so, it doesn't belong in Wikipedia. If not, it needs a source. RosinDebow 07:08, 9 May 2006 (UTC) RosinDebow[reply]

I reverted the change, along with the statement her singing improved as she got older which is POV (though probably true of most singers). RosinDebow 15:24, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just found this biography, which is the best I've seen so far on the web:

"Stratas, Teresa". Retrieved 2006-05-27.

Here are some other links to check out:

I have expanded the article and added a new image etc. I have de-stubbed the article which I think is now in reasonable shape, (subject to corrections and additions). I have also added a reference to Stratas' marriage to Tony Harrison, English poet. I cannot find any information on whether they are still married. The last reference I can find to the marriage is in The Guardian, April 2000. Can anyone elaborate further? Orbicle 18:41, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Teresa Stratas3.jpeg[edit]

Image:Teresa Stratas3.jpeg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Citizenship[edit]

Stratas became an American citizen in either 2007 or 2009, although I can't find a source for it beyond the vague reference in the description of her archival collection. However, I know that issues of nationality on Wikipedia can sometimes create enormous long-running fights (see the talk page of Frederic Chopin), so this is just a heads up in case someone comes across a better source. - kosboot (talk) 23:33, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Image[edit]

Great to have an image, but do we know when where as what with whom. User:GRuban, help? Could be Lulu which would nicely match the lead. --
