Does any part of it survive? Please explain in the article rather than here. Rhollenton 01:09, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

Reference on frieze sculpture

I've rewritten the article from top to bottom.

The only fragment I couldn't find a print reference for is the interpretive statement that one of the frieze sculptures was meant to be:

"a reminiscence of glory designed to spur the Athenians on and raise morale"

Does anyone have a reference for this?

I snipped the fragment out temporarily to preserve it.

Image has gone missing...

There is a link to an image at the bottom which seems to be broken, does anyone know where it's gone? KrisWood 01:19, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

File:Athena Nike.jpg was added by an unregistered user 12.206.179.35, with no explanation in the edit summary. Either the image doesn't exist, or the file name "Athena Nike.jpg" is incorrect. I tried a few variations on the file name but no luck there. The edit may have been made in good faith—it doesn't look like overt vandalism. Possibly it's a way of suggesting WP should have an image of the temple and that it should be in the article. I'll leave a message on User:12.206.179.35's talk page. For the time being I've removed the image.

Double Articles

This article is similar to Sanctuary of Athena Nike. Both articles should be merged together under Sanctuary of Athena Nike --88.72.194.111 12:50, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Good suggestion. Merge carried out. Madmedea 14:13, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

you should mention that the company Nike is derived from her name. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.118.79.149 (talk) 09:03, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
