Article lacks criticism

Shouldn't there be somthing about critisism of the company? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.134.32.224 (talk) 10:58, August 29, 2006 (UTC

Yes, of course. But there just isn't an article about critisism on their website, and there isn't much domestic critisism about Telenor, maybe with the exception of long waiting time on their call centre. But feel free to add critisism paragraph if anyone knows about anything fishy. Arsenikk 14:13, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
Well, a couple of weeks ago, they left Norway Internet eXchange (NIX), whose goal is to promote network neutrality. They've already started blocking popular websites in Norway, such as Finn.no, and Aftenposten.no, both owned by the media company Schibsted. Telenor will continue to block these sites until Schibsted pays Telenor for access to their customers.

USD

I changed the income from NOK to USD, this is afterall an international company. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.108.230.213 (talk) 23:55, January 6, 2007 (UTC)

Please refrain from such conversions in the future. Telenor is a Norwegian registered allmennaksjeselskap headquartered in Bærum, Norway that reports its books in Norwegian krone, not United States dollars. Also, the USD dollar is no more an "international currency" than NOK, though many Americans seem to believe otherwise. It is policy on Wikipedia to only quote native currencies. Changes

I changed and corrected the name of the president, and added some facts about Telenor's current strategy. I wonder about the COMSAT satellitte communications deal with Lockheed, I've never heard of it and doubt that Telenor owns this company (I should know, since I'm vice president of Telenor...). 83.109.107.214 (talk) 15:40, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Founding date

The founding date stated in the article is that of the former state-controlled Televerket and does not apply to Telenor. Telenor was founded in 2000: http://w2.brreg.no/enhet/sok/detalj.jsp?orgnr=982463718 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.88.248.43 (talk) 16:00, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

The date refered to in the link provided is the date that Telenor was converted from an aksjeselskap (AS) to an allmennaksjeselskap (ASA). This was done at the time the company was privatized in 2000. However, the entity has existed continuously since 1855, fist called Telegrafverket, then called Televerket, and since 1994 called Telenor. At the same time in 1994 it was converted from a government agency to a limited company. Because of the nature of the continuum of operations, it is natural to state 1855 as the year of establishment. Arsenikk (talk) 20:37, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Telenor name change

The name of the company should be changed from "Telenor" to "Telenor Group" Wich is the new official name. The same with the logo. I've tried to change it before, but it was quickly reversed to the old Telenor logo. ref.: link Telenor Group

The complaints section has significant mention of a Bangladeshi subsidiary

Surely this mention is disproptionate and should be more focussed —Preceding unsigned comment added by SimonMWatts (talkcontribs) 13:01, 24 September 2010 (UTC)

The Mobile section has a lot of corporate gibberish

Synergies, deliverables, these words are gibberish —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.35.82.136 (talk) 06:24, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

Failed merger with Telia of Sweden.

I suggest adding a note about the failed merger with Telia of Sweden in the late 1990's, a merger that fell through because of acute megalomania among the Norwegian politicians of the time, who seriously believed that Norwegians would dominate the top leadership of the merged company, including getting both the post of chairman of the board and CEO, even though the merged company would be about 60% Swedish owned (Telia) and only about 40% Norwegian owned (Telenor). When the Swedish government told the Norwegians that there was no way Sweden would accept such an arrangement, the merger was called off... Allan Akbar (talk) 22:12, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

This article, if reduced to unsourced statements, would be a stub. Even though its on the English Wikipedia, non-English language sources are acceptable. I've just been though and tagged recent unsourced statements (previous ones date back years), if anyone can source them, even from non-English sources, please do.
