2 Suns?

How is that possible, last time I checked, a planet can only orbit around one sun. If it didn't orbit around one sun and belong to one solar system, it wouldn't be a planet anymore...

Last time you checked... which was never. More B|, less :O please. 86.139.146.215 (talk) 05:42, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
I seemed to remember somewhere that the suns were called G1 and G2. Can anyone clarify that? -Fogelmatrix 19:48, 29 December 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fogelmatrix (talkcontribs)

It is obvious you didn't check anything. It is called a binary star system, which is a star system composed of 2 stars revolving around each other.Azn Clayjar (talk) 19:39, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Tatooine history

I've read that in an empire before the old republic Tatooine was part of the infinite empire and used to be a lush jungle planet, before it was bombarded by them and made a desert plant. --Anon.

Sounds like the KOTOR Rakata's Infinite Empire. I'm not sure about the lush jungle part, but I vaguely remember them bombarding it, yes. --maru (talk) contribs 04:28, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
If so that would explain how Tatooine has a breathable atmosphere, which I found puzzling in light of the almost total lack of plant life. 125.37.173.210 (talk) 13:36, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Misplaced criticism?

Should there be a mention of criticism in the fauna section? --maru 00:04, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I was under the impression Tatooine's stars were named Tattoo A and B, not one and two. SkeezerPumba 01:00, 31 May 2005 (UTC)

No, they are one and two Adolph172

Dwellings

Do we have an article about the excavated dwellings Luke lived at? Apparently they are traditional Tataouine dwellings with some technological trash thrwon around for decoration.

Art

The picture currently shown here is not official, nor does it have a resemblance to any official pictures. I will delete it in the hopes someone else can find a better picture, possibly from the Phantom Menace or A New Hope.

Anchorhead - fictional settlement?

I've noticed that Anchorhead is described as a fictional settlement. Is this just saying it is fictional as it is part of the fictional Star Wars universe?

Dantooine

This sentence is confusing. It claims the names Tatooine and Dantooine and the same name, I think, but they clearly aren't. This should be removed, or better explained. In what is one of the more interesting editorial accidents in Star Wars’ history, because Tatooine was unnamed in the first movie, the editors accidentally referred to a "different" planet as Dantooine; a planet occupied by the Empire on Princess Leia's word that there was a Rebel Alliance base there. This is the same name and it is only by accident that this one name, albeit with two slightly different pronunciations found its way into the movies.

Star names

In the first paragraph, the suns are referred to as Minas etc, specifically stating that they're not Tatoo I and II. Then in the caption for the picture of the two suns, it states the opposite.128.250.102.134 00:28, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

Species?

It says that smugglers are one of tatooine's species. Last I checked smuggling was a job.--Jim Shorts 22:19, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Jim Shorts

moisture farmers

Could "who mostly farm moisture for a living" be turned into a link to "en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moisture_farmer"?

Tatooine and Humans

I just got through KOTOR about six months ago, I remembering the sand people saying it was a lush jungle world before the Rakat glassed it, but I don't remember anything indicating it was the original human homeworld. IIRC, the original human homeworld is in another galaxy.

No Maps?

"This problem is exacerbated by the fact that no maps are allowed on Tatooine[citation needed], therefore making respecting the territories of Sand People and Jawas extremely difficult. This inevitably leads to conflict. Some people believe the prohibition of maps is a deliberate action of the Empire as the conflict it causes necessitates the presence of stormtroopers under the guise of 'peacekeepers'."

I've been a Star Wars fan all my life and I've never heard about their not being maps on Tatooine. I suspect that this is either vandalism or a misinterpretation on someones part. Unless anyone can prove me wrong on this I'm going to remove it. Superstarwarsfan (talk) 02:21, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Good move. I'd point out as well that this article already has major in-universe style problems (see WP:INUNIVERSE), and the "no maps" statement is a perfect example of what needs to be cut. Noca2plus (talk) 18:16, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Home planet??

Lots of confusion regarding whether Tatooine is the home planet of Lke Skywalker. Wikipedia defines 'home planet' as the birthplace or 'planet of birth'; Luke wasn't born on Tatooine, so this is wrong. TheMoridian 10:14, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
