acceptence in Europe[edit]

Both the old en the new Swiss ID-card are NOT biometric. According to the new EU-laws all ID-cards, issued by countries whose ID-cards are accepted in the EU, have to be biometric. On the official website of the Dutch government it is stated that only ID-cards from a specific list of countries are recognized in the Netherlands. Switzerland is not on that list.
