Lead sentence[edit]

There is a wp:refers problem in the lead sentence. Summer architecture is something (other than a "term"), whether it is an architectural style, or the houses of a certain area, or the styles of the houses. I've made two attempts at changing this but was reverted both times. Volunteer1234 (talk) 18:08, 12 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Tidying up the article[edit]

I would like to query some of the recent additions and suggest a few House Rules for this article.

Houses in Sintra should not be included. Summer architecture is used to refer to coastal houses that were initially built to ensure proximity to the Royal Family when it stayed in Cascais in September and, subsequently, by rich people who wanted to be out of Lisbon during the summer months and by the sea. Sintra is well covered in other articles and is not by the sea.
Notable examples should only be listed where there is an article on the building being cited. Just a list of buildings that forces the interested reader to search Google for information is not helpful. Roundtheworld (talk) 08:28, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
