Notability[edit]

Points to consider:

  1. Sarkar published in the Annals of Mathematics, probably the best journal in the field, a paper he wrote during his first year of PhD studies.
  2. After finishing his studies, Sarkar got the prestigious postdoctoral fellowship of the Clay Institute in the year of the economic downturn - precisely when the crisis forced the institute to offer only one such position.
  3. The Mathematics Department at Princeton University almost never hires an alumnus. They did it for him. This is a great honor.
  4. Sarkar's contributions to the field have been none short of revolutionary. Ask anybody in the field.

Notability is clearly established by the ICM talk, probably also by the Clay Research Fellowship and by the Annals paper with 200+ citations. Russ Woodroofe (talk) 02:03, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
