Multiple versions[edit]

I've confirmed that the Chicago entity and the company that changed names in 1933 are the same company, but an editor pointed out on my talk page today that Illinois law may have made the earlier New York merger impossible, and that there may be two separate Straus banks, one in Chicago and one in New York. So a split may be needed, if further research can support that. Benji the Pen (talk) 16:14, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
