Order of recordings list[edit]

In the § Recordings section, the bullet points appear to be ordered alphabetically by first performer's surname. Perhaps a more useful — and more historically informative — order would be by release date?

Then again, we could put the same info in a table, that readers could sort either way they choose, by clicking on the column heading. But doing that would require a less natural presentation of performer names, e.g. "Zappa, Frank" vs. "Frank Zappa".

My preference would be to reorder the list by release date, using first performer's surname to break any resulting ties. Opinions, please? yoyo (talk) 01:33, 7 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Note that if we do tabulate this list, we'd also want columns headed Album (and possibly Reference). Below is a typical list entry with two performers:

Herbie Mann with Chick Corea – Standing Ovation at Newport (1965)[reference-number]
