WP:PROF says, "The person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level." That applies here. As mentioned in the article, his book about Bill Clinton, High Hopes: The Clinton Presidency and the Politics of Ambition, was awarded the Gradiva Award from the National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis, for the best published work in the category of biography in 1998.
