Why do we have both a "St. Ambrose University" and "Saint Ambrose University" page?

I agree with the deletion that Kevbo made in one of the very first lines, but I can't figure out why we know have both a "St. Ambrose University" (version of page before any updates were made today) and a "Saint Ambrose University" page (all the updates made today less Kevbo's deletion of a line in the lead). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.26.165.178 (talk) 04:02, 16 January 2012 (UTC)

St. Ambrose University is a WP:REDIRECT, click on that link for an explanation. CTJF83 04:21, 16 January 2012 (UTC)

I'm getting this article moved

I have asked an administrator to move Saint Ambrose University over the redirect St. Ambrose University. According the school's own website it is correct to use St., not Saint. The prevailing Ghits and other factors also show that both the formally correct and common name of the school is St. Ambrose University. Why this was ever named the way it currently is is beyond me.
