SpiderOak Reviews and Refs

Does it really have "2048 byte RSA"? This should be "2048 bit RSA".

According to the SpiderOak Engineering page it is '2048 byte RSA'. "SpiderOak uses a layered approach to encryption, using a combination of 2048 byte RSA and 256 bit AES..."

The whole article reads like copied from promotional materials. BaronCharlus (talk) 22:41, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Given that most of the references are straight off the SpiderOak web site, I'm not surprised. Could do with more in the way of independent reviews/news I think. 216.12.223.77 (talk) 00:32, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

I don't have the time to rewrite the entire article myself & include some references, but there are many reviews and articles being produced for these popular Online Sync tools like SpiderOak, Dropbox (service) and SugarSync. These other wiki pages have similar issues and clarification whether these are categorized as Backup Services Comparison of online backup services, Cloud based Online storage or Online File Synchronization services File Synchronization would be helpful. Though the categories & features overlap, it is confusing to the reader.

SmallCloudBuilder has published a very detailed independent review of SpiderOak and there are some other comparisons here:
