'Suid-Afrikaanse rand (Afrikaans)'

Now that Afrikaans is only one of 11 official languages in South Africa (alongside English, but with no higher status than any of the others) and English is effectively the national lingua franca, there is surely no longer any reason to give the Afrikaans name of the currency here (in the heading of the box on the right), for this implies that the apartheid era (when the only official languages were Afrikaans and English) is not yet over - more than twenty years after it ended! English appears on all the rand banknotes, but Afrikaans (like Zulu, Xhosa, etc.) only on some of them.

In Sesotho, we do not write "ya," but we write "ea." Thato J Molefi (talk) 15:58, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
