Hi Peteinterpol, first of all I would like to thank you for updating the page Somer Valley FM. As you may of noticed, we have recently been updating the page with news of many developments since this page was launched.

We have been told, some of what we have been trying to post up has been described as promotional wording and therefore is unacceptable. Since we can not see any obvious commercial aspect to our copy, we would be very grateful if we could have a telephone conversation to discuss this.

Since it is clear that you wish to continue helping with our wiki page, it would make sense for us to communicate directly as we are all working in the best interest of such a positive community project. The above refers to attempts to change the current intro to the following:

"Somer Valley FM is community radio in North East Somerset that delivers local radio and achieves an ambitious programme of social gain objectives. It has close links with education."

I have reverted this change on a number of occasions due to the phrase "achieves an ambitious programme of social gain objectives" which in my view is subjective and non-encyclopedic, and does not improve the factual content of the existing intro.

The anonymous editor making the change is clearly personally connected with the radio station so there appear to be issues of conflict of interest in making such edits. I'm not sure that use of the phrase "our wiki page" above reflects the fact that the page is not 'owned' by the radio station but is part of an impartial encyclopedia open to all to edit.

I have no wish to speak by phone to the radio station and feel that is not in the spirit of an open encylopedia such as Wikipedia. But I do welcome the genuine, good faith attempt above to resolve the matter by discussion. I would therefore welcome any views from other editors, and am happy to continue to contribute to this debate via this discussion page.
