Potential Items to Add: 1. Talk more about the effects of social media on US elections, beyond US election interference via malice intentions. Instead talk about social media is used by politicians via ads, posts, and trends to sway voters and how social media itself puts less control out of the hands of politicians. Furthermore, look at the effects of each social media platform to see which demographics and groups are affected the most by each platform. I would also like to then potentially compare social media use in different countries within the EU to see how politicians use social media to their advantage. I would also like to compare social media use to other countries with censorship rules.

Peer Review:

The article lead includes an introductory sentence that is concise is and clear, however in the sentences following discussing politcal processes and activities the article would benefit if repeating words were removed and sentences were combined to be more concise. Otherwise, I think the lead is strong and not overly detailed. In the background section I noticed a problematic statement that states " most people see social media...". I don't think this is an appropriate sentences for a wiki article because it generalizes. I also noticed that there is a section called "Disinformation" and I think it might be important to also address the issue of misinformation. And extending that thought the topic of microtargeting is relevant to social media in politics because social media platforms amass collections of personal data, sell the data to politcal parties, which they then use curate advertisements/messages to target individual voters. Possible New Subject

I think another subject that might be interesting is how different political party members engage in social media debates because I had an interesting study by Yu-Ru et al. where they take republican and democrats, put them side by side, then compare/contrast in their wording along with what narratives they tend to push.
