Added/removed websites[edit]

Added gigya.com as it is a popular social login service. I also removed Lanoba.com as the website is no longer resolving - it may be closed down. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.103.244.178 (talk)

Merge with Single sign-on[edit]

Article reads like PR fluff, key details can be merged. ViperSnake151  Talk  17:10, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Personally I find the tone informative and balanced – the Advantages and Disadvantages sections give useful perspective on the subject – and the article tend towards plain english. Are there any specific sections you feel could be made more encyclopaedic? This IS a subtopic of Single sign-on, but merging this full article would give undue weight to this one area. Perhaps better to summarise this article into a brief section with this as the linked Template:Main article. Artemgy (talk) 10:05, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

meaning of "identities" unclear[edit]

In section "Application" at the end of the phrase "..., the majority of social networks and consumer-based identity providers allow identities." the meaning of the word "identities" seems unclear. Suggestions: - "fake identities" - "pseudonyms" - add reference to article on the meaning of "identities" in the context of this one. (BucovinaClubMate (talk) 20:11, 1 September 2019 (UTC))[reply]

List of providers[edit]

I renamed the section to List of notable providers from the long winded List of common social networking services using social login and put an explanatory sentence instead. However I wonder how this list could be improved. It's useful to have a list of providers, but perhaps it could benefit from additional information. E.g. Features, link to specific information on their social login interface. Any other suggestions? Artemgy (talk) 10:20, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
