Fair use rationale for Image:Skyhighcover.jpg[edit]

Image:Skyhighcover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Thank you (from Yumi)[edit]

Hello. Thank you for nominating Sky High (TV series) to the WikiProject Anime and manga category. I'm not yet sure how that works, but I hope it will help us expand the article. Although we need to be clear to everyone that while the series (Sky High) is based on a manga, it is live action, not an anime. As long as that's understood, it might also help to place this in a category appropriate for a non-animated TV drama. Also thank you for the suggestion of merging the TV article and 2003 film article together. It's not a bad thought, as they are obviously connected. However, they are also somewhat independent of each other in the following sense: North American audiences are familiar with the film which was a major big budget release with a dubbed/subtitled North American distribution. But most are unaware that it is based on a Japanese TV series. So far there has been no official distribution of it in North America. It's very difficult to find any information on it—even though it's hugely popular in Japan. Ironically, some of my friends who live in Japan are fans of the series, have seen every episode, but are less familiar with the movie. So in a sense, it’s two different fan bases. It might confuse people who are looking for one or the other to merge them.

At the moment, they’re both stubs. There’s so much more to tell about both. The film is very complex, many characters and subplots, and (since I’ve seen it and own the DVD) I’d like to help tackle it, as I have time. But I created the page for the series, not only because I want people to know the series—but I need help help from other Wikipedians to learn more about it, myself. Because the series (like any series) is even more extensive than the film. With help from others, I want to see episode lists for each season, character lists, guest stars—like any other TV series article. All that, plus a full fleshed out feature film article would be a lot on a single page, and possibly confusing.

At the same time, I want it clear they are connected, in the same universe, same actress, with clear links between the two pages. What do you think?

Thank you! I’m excited about this!

Yumi

Compromise?[edit]

I removed the merge tag to the manga, but added a merge suggestion for a merger between the series and the movie. I still think they should remain separate, but if there was going to be a merger, it should be between the movie and its "sister" TV series, because there is a connection between the two. The manga?--not so much (other than the basic concept).

Still I would suggest continuing to build the articles separately (because it's three completely different audiences) and use links in between where appropriate to show the connections and source material.
