It is an event organized from the times immemorial. All reputed newspapers cover this event and government makes elaborate security arrangements. To substantiate this, the web pages of reputed dailies like The Hindu are cited. Please check with the webpages cited. Please suggest an appropriate category. It is a very important practice. The idea of writing on this occured when I searched and did not find an entry on this. I will be improving it. Please don't delete it.
11-5-09 I want add photos available with Hindu Images; I don't know if they are of public domain or not. I kept them on my desktop. I don't know how to transfer them to the article page.--Dr.Appalayya (talk) 10:03, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
