2011 survey[edit]

Tacyarg I am somewhat curious how you feel The Chippenham Vision survey is not appropriate to include, which even though its sourcing may be primary, contained contributions from 40 pupils of the school, and I wonder if you made any effort to find alternate sources. And yet you seem to have no problem with the appropriateness of the inclusion of Matt Dawson opening The Refectory in 2011. Was Matt a former pupil? No. Did he contribute anything to the town? His media persona for half a day. 82.14.227.91 (talk) 17:45, 23 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi 82.14.227.91, thank you for your comment. Yes, it's the primary nature of the source plus to be honest I cannot see what it has to do with the school. If I am reading it correctly - and I can't access the complete document so I may have missed something - it's about planning for Chippenham, not the school. Best wishes, Tacyarg (talk) 19:35, 23 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The fact that it was a long-term planning and development survey which gave an integral role to local people, hence the inclusion of 40 pupils from the school, and had a huge impact on subsequent local development, which included additional school buildings, and continues to help to ensure local people play an integral role in the decision making of any proposed future developments that shape their community, should be enough. Either way, you should have posted your concerns to be addressed on this page prior to reverting the edit. 82.14.227.91 (talk) 03:13, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No doubt a worthy initiative, but borderline in regard to notability for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The article as it stands reflects badly on the school as it implies eight years have passed with no further community engagement. -- Wire723 (talk) 13:27, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

How so? The town council still meet regularly to discuss future plans and consideration is given to the conclusions reached in the survey. Those plans may not always involve the school and its development at each meeting but when the time arises, due care will be given to what has gone before. The survey was a hugely notable event in and of itself as it determined much which reflects in the school as it is at the present. 82.14.227.91 (talk) 20:42, 25 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
