Re: What can one else add more.....?

Hi There,

Wikipedia is a very unbiased website and since it is a website it cannot be easily vandalised and hence Wikipedia is much more honest than any other media and Wikipedia would ABSOLUTELY have no problem in mentioning the Telgi Scam, which it does.

neutrality

this page is biased against Sharad Pawar. There is no mention of his accomplishments or policy as a minister. [1] —Preceding unsigned comment added by Latasupriya (talkcontribs) 14:07, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Why does no body mention's Sharad Pawar's mentoring of Ulhasnagar gangster pappu kalani..its said that he was a sharad pawar henchman ..? Doesn't this seem a little biased article towards Sharad Pawar..We need to report to wikipedia that political inspirations should not guide the content on it, like in this one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.215.26 (talkcontribs) 17:37, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Ponting

Dear Sir / Madam,

Ponting stated in the press conference, that he and Kumble had agreed before the start of the match, that confirmation for the doubtful catches will be sought from the catcher himself and not be referred to the third umpire. They, therefore, placed greater trust in the honesty of the player, above the capability of the camera and technology.

The same Ponting made a dishonest appeal for a catch when he knew, that he had NOT made the catch. Here is how it happened:

"IN the second inning of the match, with Dhoni and Dada on the crease, at the score 130 for 5 wicket, the ball went up in the air, after rolling on the pad of Dhoni without touching his bat or his wrist. Ponting dived to his right and held the ball in the air trusting that it was a catch. In the process of balancing his body, he fell on the ground while continuing to hold it. However, the ball had touched the ground too. The moment he became stable, he raised the ball from the ground and made and appeal while showing the ball to the empire, when he clearly knew that the ball had touched the ground."

I was watching the game on the Willow Cricket, and the commentator replayed this with a degree of shock.

That is a very serious reflection on Ponting's integrity & honesty.

Please review the tape yourself, and confront Ponting about his claim of honesty.

This article is NOT neutral

The article devotes no time to Pawar as a person (a great student of Maharashtra and the national agriculture, with keen understanding of industry and agricultural needs) and an achiever (responsible for great deal of industrial progress). This article focuses more in mishaps during his tenure as a CM and corruption allegations by widely discredited Mr. Khairnar. There is no neutrality in this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.184.247.234 (talk) 19:32, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

You should give a short bio-data about him. How did he come into politics. What is his family background, his education etc. How did he manage to come up without belonging to a political family. You have to give information on what he stands for to be a complete Wiki site about sharad pawar. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.182.162.184 (talk) 10:21, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

The article does not read like a wiki page

I have requested the Wikipedia Cleanup Taskforce to take a look at the article. It contains very few citations, and many rhetorical questions, which speak of personal bais.

What can one else add more.....?!!

Dear friend , Hi 1. Your concern is indeed thoughtful.

2.But , let me tell you , we cannot deny a person his credit ,if he has done good deeds. In this case , Sharad Pawar .Sometimes , highlighting some one's positive achievements unfortunately attracts wrong charges of PROMOTIONALISM .So , kindly do not have doubts about sharad pawar and therefore remove the tag added by you .

3.We can write about controversies surrounding sharad pawar like THE US $ 50 MILLION FAKE STAMP-PAPER - TELGI SCAM TO MAKE IT TOTALLY NEUTRAL , BUT , WILL THEN WIKIPEDIA BE BOLD ENOUGH TO WRITE THE SAME ON THIS PAGE...?

4. A point is completely missed that he had his hand involved in the 1993 Mumbai Blast along with Mr. Dawood Ibrahim (the ass sitting in Pakistan) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.49.111.55 (talk) 12:08, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Early life

The article has nothing to say about the early life of Mr. Pawar such as his family background, his parents' names, siblings, education etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.187.26.104 (talk) 03:06, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Vandalism Expected

After the incident on November 25, 2011, there could be instances of vandalism on this (already poor) article. Would appreciate if someone responsible takes charge of it, or if it could protected for the time being. ~Romil 19:35, 25 November 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Romilsworld (talkcontribs)

Discussion of revision 483005336

Per [WP:RS] Wikipedia and Facebook are not reliable sources, and Wikipedia is not a place to do original research on what was said there. The Kolvaeri parody seems to be irrelevant to the contents of this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abeer.ag (talkcontribs) 13:30, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

Sharad-Chandra?

The name Sharadchandra is not official. All affidavits Pawar has signed, have been signed as mere Sharad Pawar. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Karyakarta (talkcontribs) 04:13, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

Ministerial Career

I need help in finding sources about Sharad Pawar's career as Maharashtra state home minister during the period 1974-77.We also need sources on what led him to break away from Congress(U) in 1978.

Also, although he served for ten long years as the Indian Minister of Agriculture, the section on this part of his career is too short, and it would be good to have additional information on his achievements. Thanks.Jonathansammy (talk) 20:30, 19 June 2019 (UTC)

JaaNataa Raajaa meaning "Compassionate King

India is a democracy, not a monarchy and therefore any references to a King or Queen are not appropriate. Also Jaanataa means wise, not compassionate. The source is a newspaper article where one of his supporters call him Jaanataa Raja but that does not mean the use is widespread. The supporter by calling him that is trying to equate him with legendary Shivaji Maharaj and Mr. Pawar does not come anywhere near in achievements on that front. We should get rid of this description. I hope others way in on this.Thanks.Jonathansammy (talk) 16:52, 12 June 2019 (UTC)

If this is not an obvious aspect of the subject (e.g. with lots of RS covering it), particularly given that it is featured in the first sentence after this name, then we should delete it. The title "Sharad Pawar's dignity comes from the importance he places on patriotism - Vijay Kelka", also sounds like this was not taken from a Wikipedia-standard RS and should not be used. I had a strong feeling that the editor who originally posted in this material has a WP:COI issue in regard to this BLP subject. Britishfinance (talk) 17:24, 12 June 2019 (UTC)
This was added as one of two edits added just before the page was placed under full protection, and added by the editor whose disruption was the cause of that lockdown. I was tempted to just undo the two edits, but the changes seemed fairly reasonable, so I moved the mention of his being youngest Maharashtra CM back out of the lead (essentially a reversion, since it had been moved from the article with slight changes), but left the "Compassionate King" mention (a new addition) in the lead, mainly because I couldn't find a place in the article for it. I wouldn't mind seen it removed, for most of the reasons given above (those living in democracies tend to often be fascinated by monarchy and nobility, just as those living under the latter often fantasize about having a republic). Dhtwiki (talk) 23:04, 12 June 2019 (UTC)

I urge everybody to adhere to one set of methodology/rules/policies that wiki has regardless of the subject being discussed. I have found that the arguments/ideas and rules change often in favor of portraying Mr. Pawar in bad light. I have tried to address your concerns below one by one. Let's continue to discuss. 1. Jonathnsammy - Wikipedia shouldn't censor thoughts and terms that already exist. Sharad Pawar is known as "Jaanataa Raajaa" by his supporters. Wikipedia should not be in the business of censorship. 2. Jonathnsammy - "Jaanataa" certainly means wise. But in this context "Jaanataa" means "one who understands the pain of people". That's why the use of word "Compasionate" is more appropriate than "Wise". 3. BritishFinance - The source Vijay Kelkar was none other than a decorated Indian public servant with decades of experience. Bureaucrats in India are apolitical in nature as well as required to be neutral. I also think that your efforts to downplay the source here and ignoring the yellow journalism around "Controversies" section does feel like you are actively trying to paint the subject in poor light. As per me, I do agree that I find Mr Pawar a fascinating progressive politician and the best administrator Maharashtra ever had and the best prime minister India never had. 4. Dhtwiki - Thank you for recognizing the changes as reasonable. I am disappointed though that you do not see the whole article for what it is "A concerted effort to malign a progressive leader in India". Are you guys trying to kill progressive movement in India. Do you want to turn India into Afghanistan by giving it to Hindu Nationalists. If you think that comment is way tangent to your intentions, then I apologize. If not, I urge you to sincerely implore what's going on with this article and take a stance that adheres to Wiki's policies and rules. PJ1729 (talk) 17:04, 14 June 2019 (UTC)

You, on the other hand, seem overly sensitive to the fact that this article has adverse criticism of this politician, criticism that I once suggested, in an edit summary, that you might have better luck debunking, if that is possible, by checking how closely the summary language is supported by references, rather than by giving in to your tendency to just sweep it all away. Also, you must not have caught my reversions, as well as those by others, of truly non-neutral-point-of-view and unsupportably derogatory changes and additions to this article, of which there have been many. Dhtwiki (talk) 23:44, 14 June 2019 (UTC)

I am overly sensitive to truth and you seem covertly interested in hiding truth. I have raised flags in this article to the extent time permits. You and others are hell bent on destroying life and image of a good man, to the extent even reasonable language is not acceptable to you such as "also known as JaaNaataa Raajaa by his supporters". Now that is such a benign description. If you live in India - particularly in regions where he is supported, every soul knows this fact. But you internet Nazis don't want to recognize such basic things and I wonder why. Also all the so called "controversies" mentioned are nothing but rumors. You don't particularly seem to be disturbed that Wikipedia has stooped to the level of "Daily Mail" or similar yellow journalism outlets. I again wonder why. I will let readers make their own judgements. PJ1729 (talk) 16:26, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
