Answer: Are we going to talk about other forms of self-translation? I would have prefered the entry "literary self-translation" but I think we can't change that anymore. Deleted passages[edit]

I thought I put in what has been deleted by Wikipedia, so we can work on it and add it back with references: China Some of the other self-translators from China are Zhang Ailing, Bai Xianyong, Xiao Qian, Bian Zhiling. See WP:RS. Such websites are not generally deemed to be reliable sources, no--and in addition, the translators mentioned do not have wiki-articles--at least, they weren't linked. Now, if Rodriguez is Carmen Rodríguez, she could be added if some sort of reliable reference is added: a newspaper article, a review, a journal article. I've removed the reference to Canada: given that there is next to no documentation on self-translation in Canada, I think it's misleading to refer to the country as a site where "self-translation is PREDOMINANTLY seen". That said, Canada could/should of course be referenced elsewhere. This is to follow... What are your thoughts on this? (Trishvb (talk) 23:02, 7 February 2012 (UTC))[reply]

No it is not an educational assignment. We are all Ph D students from different countries researching on literary self-translation, a research area within Translation Studies that is gaining more and more attention.(Erainy (talk) 09:30, 13 July 2011 (UTC))[reply]

Sounds like an exciting way to interact globally. One of the reasons I stuck the template on is to alert other editors. You all are relatively new (at least your accounts are), and the template usually lets other editors know that they shouldn't start hitting revert every time an edit is made that doesn't seem helpful to them--that they should assist rather than revert. Welcome to Wikipedia--and when you're done with this one, there's a whole lot of other articles to write, including, perhaps, biographies of some notable translators.
