Rename?[edit]

Rename the article to something like "Grand Jury Resisters"? Now that Leah-Lynn Plante has been released the focus will likely shift to Duran and Olejnik. These events are notable enough to be reported on RT and Al-Jazeera. MaxBrowne (talk) 13:40, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think renaming the article "Grand Jury Resisters" is probably fine, though i wonder if it is descriptive enough. There should certainly be a link from Leah Lynn Plante to the renamed page. I dont really know how these things work and would be appreciative of any assistance. Not that it matters terribly, but i created the page. Paxus Calta (talk) 09:01, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphan Status[edit]

I added a link to this case under the US portion of Remand (detention). The case has been getting some media attention and may spark political action on grand juries using this approach to force informants (since these imprisoned persons are not even witnesses) to testify. I personally think this is quite an important story which deserves better coverage in the news. Unfortunately we've got a bit of a problem with sourcing for this article. Most of the reports are coming from radical left wing websites. So far Salon, LA Times and Seattle Times are the only mainstream western sources to cover it, and they haven't kept up with developments. Russia Today is basically a Putin mouthpiece so I'd avoid sourcing from there. Al Jazeera is better, but still tends to be treated with suspicion by Westerners.
