The first footnote and "Inside Eli"

Given the insider-outside animus and fraternity that animated the founding of each of the landed Yale College societies, the Pundits lemonade stand in the courtyard of the Keys tomb is a stroke of American genius. I'd guess a Keys members arranged it...or the Pundits might had been tossed off the property - great gesture if this is true.

The "Inside Eli" reference is a bit misleading. The pamphlet is humorous rather than journalistic in tone and content; I'd guess Calvin Trillin and other members of Keys authored it, reading (and rereading and rerereading) the text. WHS and Bones take good shots from the authors.

I'd imagine a Keys guy (or gal) is an ideal, at least among the delegates that tapped the guy (or gal). 68.173.91.55 (talk) 16:11, 9 July 2011 (UTC)SLY111

The new "Notable" section might do well to copy the "Wolf's Head format" given it requires a brief explanatory bio. The "Covington and Burling" atty, for example, is a total bs entry without additional information, as was the "Wesleyan asst prof". SLY111

I am dismayed at the accusation of "vandalism" when I submit that Scroll and Key, in a word, is the "snob" society at Yale. Scroll and Key has its place, with the Alsops and the others, announcing to the world that Keys is a Yale ideal made corporeal. Worse than "poppycock"....SLY111

The Nov 3 edition of the Wolf's Head entry articulates well the general idea that WHS stands in almost stark contrast to the elitism, social and otherwise, of Keys (and Bones, to a lesser extent). Almost any Yalie, junior year or longer in service, would agree with this assessment. Admittedly, it may not be gentlemanly to announce this truth, but.... SLY111

Why are so many "Notables" listed separately at base of page? Maynard Mack, D. Hanson -- subject of an excellent book by Calvin Trillin (from Kansas City) -- and any Auchincloss (the Mayflower, stupid, it's the Mayflower) should be included. And where are all the squash "Notables"?...SLY111

Notable members

Hi there. I've recently overhauled the notable members section by:

• turning the list into a sortable table
• removing all unreferenced members
• removing all members who don't have pages on Wikipedia, as notable has a distinct definition here. Once they have pages, I think they should be re-added to the list.

An anon IP has re-added most of the removed names, which has completely broken the table. I propose that they be removed again, as they are not 'notable' within the Wikipedia definition of the term. Any objections? [roux » x] 23:23, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Recent pranks issue

Wealthiest?

Considering they must compete with Skull and Bones for the title, calling Scroll and Key "the wealthiest" secret society at Yale is a stretch that needs references.
