Helen Graham (Helen Matthew)[edit]

This award was based on the misconception that Helen Matthew/Matthews was a footballer in the 1880s or founded the first Scotland women's team, neither of which are correct. She was known as a team captain in 1895–96 and deserves recognition, but several myths about her life have spread, such as arranging a match that happened when she was about 9 years old.
