Hicks criterion[edit]
Is this the correct definition of Scitovsky paradox? According to what I have read on other sources (such as: http://www.reckon.co.uk/open/Pareto_improvements_and_Kaldor-Hicks_efficiency_criterion), the Scitovsky paradox seems to be about having a change in allocations that satisfy the Hicks criterion but not the Kaldor criterion or viceversa. Is that correct?
- From the linked page: "the ordering relation implied by either of the Kaldor or Hicks compensation criteria may not be anti-symmetric (the Scitovsky paradox)". This means any of the two serves for generating paradox. For all I know, they may be equivalent.
