merges needed[edit]

Although we normally keep articles on high schools, I do not think theNorth Coast Distance Education School really qualifies--it's essentially a distance education service for the entire district.

And Skeena Junior Secondary School is a junior high school, not a high school. I'm going to redirect Skeena here; for the NCDEA, it might be worth merging in a section. DGG ( talk ) 20:46, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

NCDES provides a province wide service, which is true of all similar public distance education schools in BC. In many respects, it is to brick and mortar schools as Wikipedia is to a printed encyclopaedia; it provides the same basic function, but does so without requiring physical locality for the consumer. Are there any special criteria to help determine if a school should be listed or not? Nasty (talk) 22:10, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please keep this page, it's a value to the school's students who may want to build it up in the future. Although we are a Distributed Learning School we nevertheless have a vibrant school community, staff, and administration. Although we provide services to our District we are also home to many who are not in our District because they also attend other schools. Unlike the rest of our School District, our courses and staff share many students with neighboring school districts, have cross district relationship with whom we face a common set of issues. Together we have found solutions, culture and philosophy that is characteristic the geography, history and people groups of the Northwest. Please keep this page as a stub for a while until we have the opportunity to flesh it out -- Rob Wahl, Vice Principal NCDES.Vulcanville (talk) 04:17, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
