Ah, aren't mergists fun? the 100 Mile school article is bound to be reinstated; no doubt some admin in some farflung part of the US or abroad decided it wasn't noteworthy enough, wherever it is they are from; all schools in the Cariboo will eventually have their own article.....Skookum1 (talk) 05:19, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect avoidance May 2012[edit]

So, I've removed most of the wikilinks to schools in the table, other than those which are clearly going to be notable under the standard notability procedure (i.e. they aren't elementary). I ummed and ahhed about whether to keep the links in for the elementary/junior secondary schools but decided not to just now - they can be readded if anyone thinks they'll pass notability, which is possible. This avoids the circular redirect of the links which have redirects coming straight back to this page - which is frankly silly. If any of the elementary schools ever get their own articles (i.e. they show notability in some form) then, again, they can be added in again.

I've also added some general information with some of those splendid old references. Interestingly it seems difficult to get sources to agree on how many schools there actually are in the district. I've gone with what seems to be a reasonable compromise - one source said 6 secondary which I don't think is anywhere close. I'd appreciate any further refs regarding this - although I think I've probably looked in all the official places! Blue Square Thing (talk) 20:30, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New Superintendent of Schools Appointed September 1st, 2012[edit]

I've done a minor edit to the Superintendent table, because Ms. Diane Wright has stepped down from being the Superintendent, and Mr. Mark Thiessen has appointed as the new Superintendent of School District No. 27- Cariboo Chilcotin. This edit and message was done by myself on August 13th, 2012 (PST.) The reason the edit was done so early was due to the the District's website saying it itself that Mark Thiessen will step up to his role as superintendent on September 1st, 2012. It's always good to be up to speed, and that's plainly what I'm doing. Have a good day, everybody! School Destroyed by Fire[edit]

This school was destroyed by fire on April 26, 2007, yet the article makes no mention of that. I was looking for information on the cause of the fire and was surprised the article treated the school as if it's still standing. Could somebody with more information on the fire please update the article. P.S. I'm new to Wikipedia, and I'm not quite sure how to sign my statement here. I'm user countrycavalcade. countrycavalcade
