Advertising?[edit]

The Salmo Baptist Church paragraph reads like an advertisement. Given that there are other churches, not to mention schools, restaurants and shops in Salmo not mentioned in the article, should this paragraph even be present? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stevebeck (talkcontribs) 03:15, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV/Weasel Words regarding Shambhala[edit]

I've added the weasel word templates as the section cites concerns of 'many residents', with no specifics or citation. I've also nominated it's neutrality be checked, as it makes statements like 'the presense of the festival this is more than out weighed by the intrusion and inconveniences endured by residents of the small community', which doesn't really seem like something that can be quantified, and would depend on the opinion of the person making the statement. And c'mon, the word invading has negative connotations. Caleb Withers (talk) 02:57, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Internment Camp?[edit]

To the best of my knowledge there was no internment in Salmo. The mountain (mound?) is named that because there was a cedar shake mill that operated there around the turn of the century that employed Japanese laborers. To say that the site has never been acknowledged and the sad comments paint a negative light on the citizens which is not warranted. I will verify with some of the older residents but I'm quite sure this is the case. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ian6195712 (talkcontribs) 16:56, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OK I have talked to several elders in the community who have lived through this period and have confirmed that the above is the truth of the matter so I am going to delete the Japanese internment section. This is based purely on rumor and speculation and as a citizen of Salmo I feel it is actually slanderous. Ian6195712 (talk) 15:18, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Rail transportation[edit]

Is Salmo served by a freight or passsenger railway, or was it once? I think it may once have been served by the Great Northern Railway, which became BNSF after a series of mergers. Eastmain (talkcontribs) 07:50, 9 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Does 'municipality' have it's place as...[edit]

According to this BC government source, Salmo is a 'Village municipality'. A recent edit from Jsfxmn has removed the 'municipality' word from the paragraph and i tend to agree that it is a bit useless.. but... I also think that maybe it was there for a reason, as maybe villages are usually unincorporated while municipalities are corporations. Anywyas, just being curious of any opinions.
