Lede confusing[edit]

The lede is a single, 123 word, run-on sentence, filled with technical jargon, and confusing to read. Perhaps someone with expertise in civil engineering and geology could make the lead understandable to the reader. I am adding civil engineering, geology and river templates to this article. I reworded the lead which should be understandable now. The rest of the article could use some work, geology and ecology are spread in two different section, but nothing more needing immediate attention IMO.--NortyNort (Holla) 00:16, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
