A little help

Hey, could someone go to List of albums (R) and alphabeticise the part with Ruslana's albums? I can see that they're not in order (well they're in order by year, but that's not the system there) but as I don't know the Russian alphabet I'd appreciate the help. Thanks. Section lifted from press release

The section headed "Ruslana celebrated Romania's intergration to the European Union" is copied word for word from a press release on Ruslana's website. It should be rewritten (and shortened), or removed altogether.--GagHalfrunt 15:54, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

That's been deleted now, but the "WorldVision" section also reads as if it's been lifted from a press release, for example: “Africa is a very interesting country for me.", Ruslana says while sharing her impressions.--GagHalfrunt 20:36, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

This biography is rife with marketing fluff and public relations cruft, of which I consolidated a few pieces. Fraudulent Defeat?

Under "Political Career" the article says:

In 2004's disputed Ukrainian presidential elections, she declared her support for Viktor Yushchenko. She was one of the scores of prominent figures that addressed the massive crowds rallying in support of Yushchenko's demand that his original defeat be declared fraudulent.

Can a defeat be fraudulent? (Well, I suppose it could, if someone feels he must resort to dishonest means in order to earn a defeat. But how often does that happen?)

Shouldn't we really be saying that Yushchenko wanted his opponent's victory to be declared fraudulent?

Fair and Square NOT Fan Affair

Let me address this to all of Ruslana's fans, Wiki is NOT her fan club website. Period. You cant just collect all of the information regarding every step of her career and put into WIKI. Use link references for those who would like to indulge themselves with more of Ruslana. This article simply has become out of control, irrational and not in good faith of NPOV, filled wirth emotional epithets of Ruslana admirers.

As per my previous posting, I've allowed an ample amount of time to respond to my concerns and to do the appropriate adjustment. Nobody wanted to talk or do anything about. Well.. then I've done it myself and reverted to pre editing of Alexandru Busa, a dedicated Ruslana fan according to his own personal page. This is not about a fan club or anything. The English article is just more developed than the other language wikipedias. The only reason the Ukrainian wiki "only dedicated a stub to her" is not because that is all the she deserves, but because nobody has dedicated enough time to expanding the article there. For this reason, if will revert the edit of erasing most of the article, because the information is not important. It isn't? Hmm.. I guess you've failed to notice "i" on top of it. Apparently Im not alone who thinks that this article is a FANCRUFT! Boguslav, Im not cheering one way or the other, English or Ukrainian version... This wasn't my point. "Dedicating enough time" doesn't necessarily mean make it long.. "Deserves"? "Important" information for whom? You are talking from FAN POV. Im not going to repeat what I've already said in previous postings, read it again.. This article is simply TOO LONG.

BTW it also very poorly written too: "performing her numbers", "ten year school attached to a conservatory"(?), etc... Attached? Meaning, physical location(?) Or maybe editor meant associated..

This is a highly unusual dispute: ordinary we complain that an article has not enough information, not that we have too much of an info. I do not find the 30K article to be of excessive length and if we compare it with t.A.T.u. and Category:t.A.T.u. or, say, Category:Star Trek the amount of information seems to be modest. On the other hand a lot of info in the Ruslana article seems not to be properly sourced, written in an informal and biased (pro-Ruslana) manner, so I am reluctant to simply revert to the long article. Please work together on the more neutral and referenced article that incorporates all the info from the long version `Alex Bakharev 23:49, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

It should not be surprising for bias to be present because it is often the fans (who actually care) and take the time to write about their favorite XYZ (enemies do the same). I agree that the sources, should be cited (preferably in English), but I'm reluctant to just remove all the material that has been written at once as has been done. Why not go back to the "long" version, insert "sources needed" templates for the entire entry or specific sections and if refs are not provided within a reasonable amount of time then revert to the "unbiased-unfan" version? --Riurik^(discuss) 02:23, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

I see strong and active bias from some Wikipedia editors. Over past month (or like this) - a lot of Ruslana images were deleted. Now his article was almost blanked (supporting deletion reasons for images). I've not seen anything like this on any other article before. I will take all reasonable actions to get article back in good shape. If somebody is willing to make article balanced - expand, not delete. I've seen articles merged with others, with a clean-up tags, reduced in size. Lviv article, for example, has been reduced too. And here Riurik what you said once about dedicating a reasonable amount of space to a subject: "I hope however that the history section for Lviv will not expand beyond two moderate size paragraphs (if that much).--Riurik (discuss) 02:38, 28 August 2006 (UTC)." Once someone put his own personal experience-review about service quality of Lviv Airport in that section (?). Nice to know, but come on, its no place in Wiki for that.

Anyway, my Ruslana's revert is in no way an "unbiased-unfan", it just less "Fanfares". I didn't create it. Work on it, improve it but dont recreate a Monster-Shrine out of it. Its true that a lot of articles in Wiki are in the same condition. Im not the enemy or the fan...I guess, this one just caught my attention. And I have a question.. Im just curious, why is that so much talk about "references" to outside sources? Does this creation of info-sources outside of Wiki makes them automatically unbiased? Attention! Unqualified Size of Importance

This is simply unbelievable! Generally unknown and insignificant to most of the English speaking population, European Pop-Star has an article in size and importance equal to most word famous contemporaries in art, politic, entertainment etc. Last time I've checked, Ruslana was hardly visible on the "World Fame Rating" radar.

Even more incridible is that in contrast her compatriots in Ukrainian Wiki dedicated her an article barely larger than a stub(?). Please, have a common sense, revise an article and remove at least 70% of it, there is no need to have such a long feature in English Wiki. I hope its not going to take a long time.. If she is "unknown and insignificant to most of the English speaking population" (which is arguable), it still doesn't mean that the article about her should be as long as a stub. Vandalism

I know nothing whatsoever about this lady but the following section looks a bit suspect to me:

Another controversy regarding Ruslana and T-Pain. Some Ruslana enthusiast think that Ruslana actually summoned T-Pain in her song wild dances. and T-Pain later appeared in the video "Moon of Dreams"

Due to the fact that Ruslana had summoned T-Pain it is possible that she is a summoness or wizard of some kind. She is also believed to have possible telekenetic powers. In the video "Dyka Energia" she is in her summoness form. She also may have multiple personalities and the ability to shapeshift into a bat figure as seen in her hit music video "Moon of Dreams".

In Ruslana's Cult of the Moon of Dreams, her predecessor sent Ruslana to the Moon of Dreams in search of a "Godly Figure" from the Moon of Dreams. After no success Ruslana returns to Earth. Later her predecessor finds a method to successfully summon the "Godly Figure" from the Moon of Dreams the "Godly Figure" rebels against the Cult of the Moon of Dreams and later rediscovers himself as T-Pain. Ruslana tries to find T-Pain because she feels sorry for him and comes to the realization that the Cult's methods are cruel, thus breaking away from the Cult. She summons him in the ritual "Wild Dances." After summoning him they fall in love and then they construct the long-awaited returning ritual to the Moon of Dreams through the hit music video "Moon of Dreams."

Was this load of old mumbo-jumbo really a controversy in Ukraine or is it just somebody having a joke? At the very least that old claptrap about her being a "sommoness" needs citations. Please somebody tell me this is just made-up! Keresaspa (talk) 04:28, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

In Golda Meir#Early life her name is spelled in Ukrainian.... As a compromise perhaps in the Early life section... Highest point winner at the Eurovision at the time?

That Ruslana was the biggest winner at the time is not relevant. In the year that she won (2008) there were 12 more countries voting (than in 2007) due to a major organizational change (i.e an increase from 24 to 36 countries and a semi-final stage). She received 13.4%** of all votes cast putting her at 10th (out of 35***) most successful winner at the time (2008) and now 13th of 42 (2015).
