Beat The Clock Challenge

Is there a Wikipedia page that explains what "Beat The Clock Challenge" is? We are definitely going to have to put that into the Background for Royal Rumble, but if someone has no idea what it is? Is there a page that we can link "Beat the Clock Challenge" to and have it explain what it is? GuffasBorgz7 (talk) 13:23, 4 January 2008 (EDST)

SmackDown

Hi Wikipedia! I'm from Scotland, so I get SmackDown over here before you in the United States. Rey Mysterio won the Beat the Clock Challenge and JBL will face Chris Jericho at the Royal Rumble, so please don't remove it from the page. Thanks! Rfcucl1972 (talk) 00:57, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

We are all aware of this, however, it must be sourced, for it to remain. LessThanClippers (talk) 00:59, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
If you will read the section above: Australia before America, you will see I made the same argument. The policy is that unless it is sourced, do not add it! GuffasBorgz7 (talk) 02:27, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Jericho/JBL

Has this match actually been announced yet? I am removing it since i don't recall ever seeing a mention of it and it's not sourced. Feel free to readd it if there's a reliable source. NiciVampireHeart (talk) 04:18, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

There is no WWE.com source as of yet. To post that match, a WWE.com source is necessary! GuffasBorgz7 (talk) 04:19, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

It was announced on the 1/4/07 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, but as of yet I don't see it on the website. —Preceding unsigned comment added by KevinOfEd (talkcontribs) 04:49, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

A WWE.com source is required. GuffasBorgz7 (talk) 04:56, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
No, a reliable source is required. WWE.com is not the only reliable source on wrestling, although it is one of few. (Sawyer (talk) 05:44, 5 January 2008 (UTC))
WWE.com is known to be the only accepted reliable source for use in Wikipedia. GuffasBorgz7 (talk) 07:02, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

It was announced on Smackdown though, what's the problem?Markcookney (talk) 00:21, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

I reckon, pretty much everyone who watches Smackdown would of saw it. Why don't you just let people add it without throwing a spaz about a source. WeLsHy (talk) 11:26, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

House Show Royal Rumble Qualifying Matches

WWE are having Royal Rumble Qualifying Matches at House Shows. Last night, 01/04/2008, at a Raw House Show in White Plains, NY, at the White Plains County, Snitsky qualify for the Royal Rumble. [1] 70.255.188.172 (talk) 09:19, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately that is not sourced anywhere on WWE.com so we cannot add it. GuffasBorgz7 (talk) 09:38, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
sure we can, it happened. wwe.com will not list that at any point. maybe we can add it with a note, that it happend at a houseshow? 80.108.74.217 (talk) 15:02, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
It needs some sort of reliable source, whether it's WWE.com or not. If it's not WWE.com, it still needs a note saying "this site reported this." But even that's stretching it. Gavyn Sykes (talk) 16:12, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Well I agree that it is not likely that it is something WWE.com will announce so a note may have to suffice. Here is one source http://rajah.com/base/node/10530 They source PWInsider, if that is deemed "more reliable." Dahumorist (talk) 16:50, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
If WWE announces that Snitsky is in the Rumble (and yes they DO report this kind of stuff if it happens at house shows), then it can be added. Some editor keeps adding it back in though, and I can't risk removing it again. TJ Spyke 23:43, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
WWE rarely report anything from House Shows. Most of the time if there is a title change, but they miss it sometimes. I don't know whether they will report it this time. If not, I think at least a note here would do, even if it mean one short sentence. I believe we as an encyclopedia should inform the people of there are qualifications at House Shows even if WWE does not, because it's important information that people will look by at how people qualify for the Match. As long we are not spoiling any storylines that has not yet happen on TV wise, we can inform the people, because the event came and went. Oh, and at tonight, 01/05/2008, Raw house show, Poughkeepsie, NY, Hardcore Holly qualified. 70.255.188.172 (talk) 05:39, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Pretty sure these matches are on Heat. So it kind of is on wwe.com considering you can watch it on the website. WeLsHy (talk) 11:29, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore qualified last night at a house show.209.209.140.21 (talk) 23:41, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

I added them and Holly along with sources to the house show results. DX927 (talk) 23:54, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
WWE.com has this site up with all the people who have qualified to the Rumble, listing Umaga, Holly, Snitsky, Miz, and Morrison only. Feel free to make any changes to the article based on it.--Andresg770 (talk) 23:31, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
I thought it was odd that they would have Yang/Moore vs. Morrison/Miz in a qualifying match, and then have the exact same match again the next night. I'm guessing that the first night was not a RR qualifying match and whoever sent in the report was wrong. I would support removing Yang and Moore. TJ Spyke 23:34, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
It wouldn't be the first time they've done that. They had Kane beat Snitsky for a spot several years back and then had Snitsky beat Kane a few days later. I think they just forgot to put Yang and Moore up for whatever reason DX927 (talk) 04:06, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Maybe, as of right now though wwe.com doesn't include Yang and Moore in the RR match (only Umaga, Snitsky, Holly, Morrison, Miz, Hornswoggle, and Foley). TJ Spyke 04:56, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

And now Batista and The Undertaker are in via magic I guess lol. But yeah, they're up on that site now. DX927 (talk) 02:30, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

A little warning, please state your source when adding wrestlers (at least in the edit summary). I had reverted your edit between the time you added them and when you posted here. We need to be on the lookout on Friday, wwe.com says the RAW house show will have Carlito and Santino Marella vs. Drew McIntyre and D.H. Smith in a qualifying match (although oddly they have removed the picture of McIntyre and Smith and now just say that Carlito and Marella will be in a tag team qualifying match, without mentioning opponents). TJ Spyke 02:36, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
I didn't state the source because anyone who checked the source that is listed could plainly see that they were added. DX927 (talk) 02:47, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
You should have stated that exact source (like I did in the edit summary), especially with Batista and The Undertaker since major names like that wouldn't qualify at house shows. It's no big deal, and i'm not "scolding" you (in reference to a comment you left on my talk page), I am just trying to help you out so you don't make the same mistake in the future. TJ Spyke 02:53, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
It's never been an issue anywhere else before. DX927 (talk) 02:54, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
Wrestling articles are persecuted more than other articles, so we (i.e. WP:PW) have to be more strict in making sure articles follow guidelines and policies. I don't watch every wrestling related article (there are more than 3,000), but I do my best with the 300+ that I do watch. Like I said, just remember to state in the edit summary where you get the info from. TJ Spyke 02:58, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

WWE.com ahs announced Kane will be in the Rumble. WeLsHy (talk) 22:50, 9 January 2008 (UTC) Santino Marella and Carlito have officially been added to the Royal Rumble Qualifiers page on WWE.com. 209.209.140.21 (talk) 17:46, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Whoever is taking people off the qualifying list needs to stop. They're on WWE.com, therefore, we have a reliable source and they deserve to be there. There's no reason to take them off, so stop. 209.209.140.21 (talk) 18:42, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Theme Song

As stated on the Royal Rumble Page on WWE.com, the official theme song is "Stand Up For Rock 'N' Roll" by Airbourne (yes, that's how it is spelled)209.209.140.21 (talk) 17:08, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Career threatening match

All of Flair's singles matches in his retirement storyline have been called "Career Threatening Matches". So should Flair vs. MVP be

Career Threating Match: Ric Flair vs. Montel Vontavious Porter[1]

  • If Flair loses, he will have to retire.Spongemaster0 (talk) 20:48, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Will this also be for the United States Championship? J.C. (talk) 06:07, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

WWE.com is not saying it's for the US Title, so no it's not. TJ Spyke 09:31, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

United States Championship

why isnt the United States Championship on the line for Ric Flair vs. Montel Vontavious Porter macth? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.99.22.99 (talk) 17:55, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

You would have to ask WWE. Just because a wrestler has a title doesn't mean it has to be on the line when they wrestle. TJ Spyke 01:34, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

The title can't be on the line because they can't make Ric Flair U.S. champion if he's involved in another story concerning his career and they won't want MVP to lose his title because they have other plans in mind invovling the U.S. title. Wwenormalfan (talk) 22:08, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Just because Flair is in this story line, doesn't mean he can't win a title. WeLsHy (talk) 06:57, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Mick Foley

Is there a reason why there's an "other" section for Mick Foley? Can't he be one of the Raw Superstars in the Rumble? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.37.71.139 (talk) 20:07, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

He's not officially part of the RAW roster anymore, and wwe.com lists him in their "WWE Alumni" section. TJ Spyke 20:17, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
True, he might not be listed in the "RAW" section on WWE.com anymore, but, he's still in the opening video for "Monday Night RAW" and in the interests of aesthetics, it's better to list him with the "RAW" participants than to give him a separate column. Furthermore, he won the qualifying match on "Monday Night RAW", so, it makes sense to list him there, as well. Kyle C Haight (talk) 07:32, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Hornswoggle won his qualifying match on RAW and spends most of his time on RAW now, doesn't make him a RAW superstar. TJ Spyke 08:07, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Plus he wrestled on Smackdown a few weeks ago.--Wrestlinglover (talk) 04:04, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Entrants

HBK & shelton benjiman are in as reported from wwe. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.240.37.176 (talk) 06:31, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

WWE.com doesn't mention Shelton Benjamin. Shawn Michaels was added several hours ago (please check the article first). TJ Spyke 06:34, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
