Move[edit]

I hope you don't mind my moving this page, but this is actually the title as printed on the album artwork. The title of the other page was more of a description of the shows, and after all, this page is about the end product. - MightyMoose22 00:35, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Concert Question[edit]

  • I know that the DVD doesn't contain any of the stuff Cream played on May 2, but just out of curiosity, what songs did they play that day? - Cubs Fan 07:12, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any reason behind the multiple links to a userpage on the Swedish Wikipedia, and how does one go about removing these?

Fair use rationale for Image:Creamreunion.jpg[edit]

Image:Creamreunion.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 21:01, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Album name[edit]

The name of this article should be the same as the name of the album (unless disambiguation is required), but what is that, really? The article has been renamed several times, most recently from "Royal Albert Hall London May 2‒3‒5‒6 2005" to "Royal Albert Hall London May 2005". But it's listed on Billboard, the Warner Brothers online record store, and Amazon as "Royal Albert Hall London May 2‒3‒5‒6 2005"', i.e. the previous article name. Looking at the album cover, it seems to me that that's the name of the album. Either that, or just "Royal Albert Hall". So, how does one determine the actual title of an album in general, and this album in particular? "P.S." Re the edit summary for the rename, what does "title should not have box symbols used in it" mean? Mudwater (Talk) 01:07, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Mudwater, and thanks for bringing this to my attention. You are correct in everything stated above; if you'd like to redirect it back, well, I suppose that's okay, though for the record, we need to know which box (symbol) from the list of symbols will be used (i.e. the second box shown, third, etc.) Best, --Discographer (talk) 01:24, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply. Yes, let's rename the article back. I can either do that or request that it be done. But I'm still not sure what you mean about which box or symbol should be used. I'm guessing you mean which form of dash between the date numbers, i.e. hyphen, en dash, etc. Is that right? Mudwater (Talk) 01:34, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, if you'd like to proceed and this, I don't mind if you do the redirect. Say we go about it with using the very first dash located right next to the scroll box, then we can show it as 2–3–5–6. If you're okay with that, I am too. Then consenses has been reached! Awaiting your response... Best, --Discographer (talk) 01:41, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The first dash to the right of the word Insert in the drop down list is the en dash, and that's the one you used in your last post. I would have thought that that would be the right one to use, but this move -- the one previous to the last one -- renamed the article from using en dashes to using figure dashes. I'm not 100% sure on this so I think I'm going to ask this question at the WikiProject Albums talk page. I'll post again here after I've done that. Mudwater (Talk) 01:56, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay then, we can use a regular computer keyboard hypen which will show as 2-3-5-6, May 2005. I'll proceed with this, unless you oppose. Best, --Discographer (talk) 02:01, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think the keyboard hyphen should not be used in this case. Please don't rename the article again yet, let's wait and see what they say on the WikiProject talk page. I'll post that now and then add a link to that from here. Thanks. Mudwater (Talk) 02:04, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Best, --Discographer (talk) 02:12, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've posted the question at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums#Dashes in article names. Let's wait for a number of days and see what other editors say over there. After that we can rename the article again, although in this case we may need to request the rename. I'm volunteering to do that. Thanks again for the discussion. Mudwater (Talk) 02:18, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome! Talk to you again, sometime. Best, --Discographer (talk) 02:30, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As discussed elsewhere, you have renamed the article, using dashes in the article name. I don't know if that's the best choice or not, but I'm going to leave it that way, at least for the time being. Meanwhile, the discussion may or may not be continuing, at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums#Dashes in article names.
By the way, when renaming an article, you should also fix any double redirects that are created. To see double redirects, go to the article and click on What Links Here. Single redirects say "redirect page" and are indented once in the list. Double redirects say "redirect page" and are indented twice. To fix this you would go to each double redirect and change it to direct to the new article name. I've done that for you this time, with this edit and this edit. See also: Wikipedia:Double redirects. Mudwater (Talk) 23:55, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Here's a history of the names of this article, so far!

Mudwater (Talk) 23:56, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It should be either at Royal Albert Hall London May 2–3–5–6 2005, or Royal Albert Hall: London May 2–3–5–6 2005, or maybe just Royal Albert Hall if you count London May 2–3–5-6 as the subtitle, but there's definitely no comma anywhere I can see. --Monkeynutbar (talk) 01:58, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
