Irresponsible and inaccurate use of source material[edit]

Text in question: “The company was also originally commissioned to create the visual effects for Star Trek: The Motion Picture, but were subsequently taken off the project for mishandling funds.[2]” Three problems: 1) The source article at theinquisitr.com uses no citations or attributions whatsoever, making use of the article at all highly questionable.

2) Use of the phrase “mishandling funds” suggests “misappropriation of funds,” which is a criminal act. The cited source does not in any way suggest such an act occurred or was even alleged.

3) The relevant portion of the cited article reads:

“Abel allegedly took the multi-million dollar budget allocated to him for the movie, and instead used it to invest in new equipment for his studio, thinking he could grow his company for new clients and create Star Trek movie effects at the same time.”

Note use of the word “allegedly” in the source article. 2603:8001:6700:4FD5:A498:6479:8427:D16A (talk) 02:05, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
