Rising Sun definitely has the KKK, though it seems to be poorly documented on the internet, but it is in old newspapers if you check Google news, and it is always in the local radio news in Maryland. Sometimes you have to just take it from the locals. The internet does not have the answer for everything.--69.250.142.163 03:20, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone give me a good reason why the KKK involvement should not be considered an important part of Rising Sun's profile?? I thought Wikipedia was a source of knowledge for the betterment of those who want to learn. It seems to me that is would be good if minorities in visiting in the area knew that Rising Sun was a dangerous place for them to stop and get gas. It seems that Wikipedia is falling short of its mission. That is sad...If the city of Balitmore can be documented for its crime rates, as a notice to visitors, so should Rising Sun. I never thought there would be such hypocrisy on Wikipedia.--69.250.142.163 18:59, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's no longer dangerous for people of color to walk down the street in Rising Sun. (As long as it's broad daylight. And there's plenty of other people in sight. And you don't talk 'uppity' to anybody with a confederate flag teeshirt.) This is a big change from my youth in the 1960s. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.153.180.229 (talk) 21:44, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
