Daiquiri to Gerardo[edit]

I hear a sample of this song title was called "Chamo Candela" by a Venezuelan Ritmo Group "Daiquiri" that was taken from the 1984 album "La Casa del Ritmo" and Gerardo had a rap lyric with "Rico Suave" that composed by Gerardo, Alberto Slezynger, Rosa Soy & Christian Warren.

Fair use rationale for Image:Rico Suave CD Single.jpg[edit]

Image:Rico Suave CD Single.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Michigan[edit]

He's from Michigan? Why, then, does Gerardo's wikipage say he's from Ecuador and he moved to California when he was twelve? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lindsay123 (talkcontribs) 01:20, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rico Suave (song)Rico SuavePrimary topic. Of the three Rico Suave articles, one is a redirect, one may or may not be primarily known as Rico Suave and the last received 19.3K views in three months. Relisted. BDD (talk) 21:55, 17 December 2012 (UTC) Marcus Qwertyus (talk) 01:49, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment that doesn't concern the usage of "Rico Suave", since it doesn't matter if it's a redirect or not, or even if it's the primary name of someone with another name, it only matters if the term "Rico Suave" is primarily associated with which. -- 70.24.250.26 (talk) 03:05, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose "Rico Suave" should either redirect to the wrestler Rico Suave, and the disambiguation page moved to Rico Suave (disambiguation). OR, be kept the way it is. This song should not be moved. "Rico Suave" is a frequently used slang term as well. -- 70.24.250.26 (talk) 03:05, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Why should Rico Suave redirect to the wrestler? I cannot read your mind. Marcus Qwertyus (talk) 08:57, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Update keep as it is I thought I remembered the wrestler as originating the term "Rico Suave", but I can't find stuff to support my position, so in lieu of that, I've modified my position to keep as is. -- 70.24.250.26 (talk) 11:45, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure why being the originator of the term would give someone entitlement to it on Wikipedia. Barack Obama, Sr. for example. Marcus Qwertyus (talk) 12:05, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

– Last discussed in 2012. Today, we can see that the song by Gerardo continues to have enduring popularity and long-term significance, more that the other topics at the disambiguation page. Pageviews are at about 80%. 162 etc. (talk) 17:37, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The incoming monthly page views follow much the same trend. 90/230 = ~39%, 56/159 = ~35%, 50/144 = ~35%, 50/139 = ~36%, 34/122 = ~28%. If it's a list of three items, even if it's not sorted by popularity (which we can now fix), it's still fairly trivial for the average reader to find what they're looking for. So on that account I'm not sure why it would be safe to assume that some of the traffic that is not identified is actually for the proposed primary topic. Rather, with numbers as close to the anonymization threshold of 10 per source+destination pair, it's more likely we're not seeing something in the long tail.
If the ratio of incoming views to proposed primary topic clicks in such a short list is consistently less than 40% as we see here, then I don't quite see how the WP:PTOPIC usage criterion is met: highly likely—much more likely than any other single topic, and more likely than all the other topics combined—to be the topic sought when a reader searches for that term. You'd have to explain the long-term significance better to influence the apparent lack of primary topic with regard to usage. We can also sort it on top of the list and see if that influences the stats three months from now. (Oppose) --Joy (talk) 10:57, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak oppose the wrestler may have more long-term significance as it may be reasonable to say a person is more important than a song. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:53, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
