wondering

Wondering how to edit this U.S. City Entry?

The WikiProject U.S. Cities standards might help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rambot (talkcontribs) 18:03, July 28, 2003

Vandalism

Yavari Govain is a vandal [1] and should be banned from editing this article she has repeatedly added clear inaacuracies to this article and readded advertisement/vandalism about the Mac Hotel. Qrc2006 02:46, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Although your warnings about possible vandalism to this page are welcome and appreciated, this isn't the place to request that a user be blocked. Please check WP policies and guidelines for inappropriate conduct for the proper procedure for so doing. I've also removed some templates from this talk page that did not need to be placed here; please discuss the addition of such templates here before adding them. -- H·G (words/works) 05:04, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Yavari Govain, changing the population size of the city switching encyclopedic phrasings like "the CA dept of finace estimates the population at" to "the CA dept of Finance says the population at" chnaging for the city's are from 29sq miles to 30sq miles for the 4th time! changing the city's population against the estimates of the U.S. census bureau and CA dept of finance without citing a soure whatsoever and adding copywritten pictures, using fair use of album covers for the section on housing boom, and terrible formatting of this pictures taking up half a page and distorting the text. i have tried contacting her numerous times and even giver her step by step explanations on how to edit propery and how to take the proper steps and she does not respond nor change her behavior at at all. i think she sould be blocked from editing this article. Qrc2006 22:13, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
i just changed the pages semiprotection to regular protection since Yavari Govain's vandalism had not been stopped. how can she be banned from this article, she has violated the 3rr about 3 times, and is completely arbitrary and uncooperative, i stopped assuming good faith here Qrc2006 22:16, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
A review of the editing history indicates that changes have been made to many of the numeric values has occurred. This is an insidious form of vandalism that is difficult to detect. The population figures, for instance, have changed and do not correspond to those on the official site. This article therefore needs a complete overhaul. --Dave 05:51, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
I believe there are disparities between figures from the World Gazetteer, USGS, US Census, and the city itself, however the World Gazeteer has been agrreed upon as not being a reliable source and the figures that are changed are often couples with vandalism of the page itself including racially motived remarks such as "Carriage Hills where the rich white people live" and "the black population is only 35% but people think all crimes is african american" and other factual inacuracies such as "the old ford motors companies will be torn down for a new ferry terminal" when in actuality and verifiable it will be modified into condos Ford Point a museum and a mall. Qrc2006 00:35, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

im am concered by recent edits by, 67.119.90.98 & 72.87.182.118, they have modified existing wording in a confusing way, added redundancies, and i think that they need to be worked on, but probably removed. Qrc2006 23:49, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Divider lines

I've taken the liberty of reverting to a previous edit in order to remove superfluous divider lines. Their addition to this article doesn't seem to serve much purpose and, in my opinion, are visually distracting. While (as far as I can tell) the WP style manual makes little direct mention of the use of divider lines, I would think that their use should be sparse. -- H·G (words/works) 19:02, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Mykee Ramen

"Mykee Ramen, founder of Burnt Ramen records, and its twin punk club." I removed him from the notable people section, anyone have more info, website, link, know why he should be included, why he is notable? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Qrc2006 (talkcontribs) 12:21, July 13, 2006

A google search turned up nothing notable and he is not credited as the founder of Burnt Ramen records on the wikipedia article, which is of poor quality and reads like a boastful defiant advertisement and even mentions that the record label is defunct and has since been shut down. but lots of unsourced statements etc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Qrc2006 (talkcontribs) 12:25, July 13, 2006

Re: islands

USGS topographic maps[2], Thomas Bros maps, and the city's own GIS service[3] all show Brooks Island, the Brother Islands, and more than half of Red Rock as being within the city limits. -Nogood 01:46, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Climate chart

added a climate chart based on info found at weather.com, allready referanced in the article. Could use some work (i.e. syle, format) possibly. any ideas? Qrc2006 06:48, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

St. Cornelius School

St. Cornelius School was recently added "St.Cornelius School, Richmond 28th street" to the schools list. Althought this is great since the list may be incomplete it was placed in the "Schools in neighboring areas" section but it however stated it is located Richmond. Furthermore it was not specified if it was an elementary, middle, or high school. I have temporarily remolved it until these questions may be resolved, and have placed a similar message on the talk page of the anonymos user that made the addition. Qrc2006 08:38, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

never mind, found it, its a K-8 i think well check the article i found the info on a website and its an elementary/middle school within the city limits. Qrc2006 13:31, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

Unregistered Users

Keep adding nonsense to the article. "Richmond is home to the Atchison Village Mutual Homes cooperative. In 1956, it became the first Federal housing (originally Kaiser shipyards housing) to be purchased by residents. It provides one of the few affordable housing opportunities in the stratospherically-priced Bay Area." i just removed this unsourced statement on Atchison Village, maybe it could have been merged into the actual paragraph on Atchison Village in the neighborhoods section and not the Geography section, however it seems the person did not even take the time to read through the article and furthermore the statements are unsourced and therefore unverifiable for the time being and i am weary of taking them seriously from other similar vandalism which i consider this to be. I also think it may actually be plagirarozed from somewhere. Qrc2006 22:10, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

Forever Young

'Many parts of the Mel Gibson movie Forever Young where filmed in Point Richmond.' Is this true, can anyone provide any proof or verification, when was it filmed in richmond, by who? Qrc2006 22:33, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

refinary spills

the city is often in the news regarding the latest chemical spill, it should be mentioned someone removed it from the disasters secttion i dont know why, probalyl vandalismQrc2006 03:04, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

vandalism

resulting from a high amount of welfare recipients and felons wishing to get their voting rights back who live in the city However many locals in west county refuse to go to that theatre on the grounds that many obnoxious hoodlums patronize that theatre and the locals choose to go to other theatres in Contra Costa County [4] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.142.94.189 (talkcontribs) 02:23, September 21, 2006

Maria Viramontes as Vice Mayor, Jim Rogers as councilmember

In early September, I changed Maria Viramontes to be listed as the new Vice Mayor from Jim Rogers, who is the previous Vice Mayor, in the City Council box. It was my first time doing that kind of change, and I'm still new to this. When I looked at the site today, somebody has changed it back to Rogers as Vice Mayor. I wanted to discuss this before making the change again, so we don't go in a circle again. Thanks. Off hand, I also had to fix a major error on Jim Rogers' name, which was spelled "Jim Rodgers." The Rogers' name has now been corrected. Tvdir 08:53, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
