Restore major events in history[edit]

You really can't write about the long decline of the Republican Party in Louisiana without discussing the legal and illegal means used to disenfranchise African Americans, who constituted a majority in many parishes. Get a grip! This cannot be overlooked or blanked out. Have added content related to this and will add cites.Parkwells (talk) 18:32, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

How about just accurately covering the START of the party. There is a long, long void due to to the criminal actions of certain other parties, but is that relevant to an article ON the party? NickAtNight123 (talk) 02:23, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

HUD[edit]

I live in Grant Parish. I am number 91 on a waiting list to receive a voucher for housing assistance. 91!!! So I asked, "Why are there so many on the waiting list? Is the list actually moving? Is it useless for me to even hope I will EVER get assistance?" I was told because we are a small, rural oarish funding is also very small for us. Well 91 people on the waiting list tells me there is a need!!! Come on politicians! You say you want to help the people, well help the people. I receive $1083 a month. Let me ask you, could you live on that? Would you want to live with your mother at 62 because you can't afford to live on your own? I don't chose to live in $1083 a month. I have no choice. If you want to help, then please help. Connie Carter ConnieCarter1 (talk) 15:29, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What on earth does this have to do with an article on the Republican party of Louisiana? You are way, way, way off
topic. NickAtNight123 (talk) 02:22, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

'Position' Infobox[edit]

I will be removing the 'position' infobox. It is unsourced as well as includes very generalized, not agreed-upon, and cursory overview of the party. In addition, the main articles for the Republican and Democratic parties purposely do not include this infobox in order to limit POV pushing. Norge17maii (talk) 21:28, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Extreme Bias[edit]

Article on the Republican party of Louisiana starts in on the Democrats in the second paragraph ! Really?

"Threatened by black majorities in several areas and unhappy with the outcome of the war, white insurgents challenged voting by blacks, and elections were increasingly disrupted by violence and fraud in the period of 1868 through the Reconstruction era. Chapters of the White League arose across the state in the 1874 as a white militia that worked for the Democratic Party to achieve the overthrow of the Reconstruction government. Notable extreme events of white violence against blacks in this period were the Colfax Massacre and the Coushatta Massacre. In addition, armed Democratic forces of the White League occupied New Orleans and took over state offices (then located in the city) after the disputed gubernatorial election of 1872."
