Religious freedom in Malaysia
I think this article is highly optimistic about the tolerance of non-Muslim religions in Malaysia. And also it could use some sources. Kenshin (ex AKoan) (talk) 10:28, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
This article doesn't look this "optimistic" as Malaysia has a significant number of non-muslims (about 40%) and islamic rules give also some rights to non-muslims. This article looks neutral. The lack of sources stays a problem though. Mapleleaf76 (talk) 09:34, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Death penalty towards atheists
The statement about death penalty towards atheists in Malaysia is wrong. It appears that the Reuters citation was taken out of context and/or that the Reuters article phrased it in a way that implied that it was the case. The Reuters article was essentially a summary of "The Freethought Report 2013", which in no way implied that simply being openly atheist made you liable for the death penalty in Malaysia. All it said was that "apostasy" in general could make you liable for the death penalty, and there was nothing to suggest that it was being enforced at all. "Apostasy" does not mean simply being atheist; it means that anyone in general who converts from a specific religion, regardless of whether or not he/she converted to atheism or another religion. There is nothing to suggest there that a Malaysian who was raised atheist from the start will be liable. Singling out atheists as victims of death penalty in Malaysia is a gross misrepresentation of the report. Sega31098 (talk) 21:59, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
