Merge of Irreligion in Ghana

I've proposed the merge of Irreligion in Ghana to this page, would there be any objections to that? Zujua (talk) 07:47, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

Irreligion should of course be treated the same as Traditionalism, Islam, Christianity and Hinduism: a paragraph in the general article about Ghana, a section in this article, and a special article. DrMennoWolters (talk) 09:00, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
Or more basic: do we really want this proliferation of articles about one topic (religion in Ghana)? What if all the different church communities start their own pages? How do we check for propaganda by zelots? Just a question; at present I have no answer, because there may be good reasons to have all such articles. DrMennoWolters (talk) 09:00, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

What about non-Akan traditional religion?

The article treats Akan religion as the only traditional religion in Ghana. However, the other tribes had and have their own traditional religions. Should we expand the article with some 30 sections about the traditional religions of other tribes? Or should we rather replace the section on "Akan religion" with a section about "traditional religion(s)" in general? DrMennoWolters (talk) 17:15, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

Pay due respect to history?

The oldest religions of Ghana are the traditional religion of the various tribes. Since 1450 or a little later, Islam reached the North of the country. Even the Ashanti Kingdom was under Muslim influence before Roman-Catholic missionaries arrived. Christiantity had little impact outside the settlements of the Whites on the coast and their "half-cast" off-spring, until the second half of the Nineteenth Century.

I suggest that the article should treat the various religions in this order: traditionalists, Islam, Christiantity, others (i.e. newcomers).

Within the various sections, those who arrived earlier should be dealt with before those who came later. So Tchamba's before Gonja's, Shi'a before Sunna, Roman Catholics before classical Protestants before charismatic churches. DrMennoWolters (talk) 17:23, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

Atheism in Ghana

I think Atheism in Ghana should be merged into Irreligion in Ghana. Dwanyewest (talk) 20:57, 26 December 2013 (UTC)

Ok. Taking a look at them. →Enock4seth (talk) 21:36, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
